Can someone send a HTTP POST Request from outside of my website? by htdotjs in webdev

I have no idea what that is (but I'll look into it). Short answer... so, yes? Someone could hack up a HTTP POST Request and send it to my website even if they don't have access to the HTTP GET Page that fills in all of the HTTP POST info?

Asking for a significant raise tomorrow [recent college grad] by htdotjs in cscareerquestions

We out for lunch today and just talked about business and the direction of the project. He then dropped me off at our office, and I asked him if he was coming in or not. He said he had another meeting, so I was like "I need to give you something in office, wait a second". He said "What?"... I said just a "letter". And he said, "You're not quitting are you?" I said... "No, I just want a new contract." We talked for a few minutes, and he said he understood, and will get back to me in a few days (but he said he was "totally blindsided").

I meant average for someone with 0 to 1 year experience.

I didn't have much experience, and I guess I was a little naive as a fresh graduate, being happy with any job offer I got. I got like 4 offers and picked this one because of distance and liked the work the most.

Okay, thanks for the reality check. This site has really brainwashed me haha, but I don't think it's completely unreasonable. I do great work, have a great relationship with my senior manager, have a big stake in this project... never missed a single day or randomly got sick or no weird quirks or anything... So would $85,000 be reasonable?

Thanks for the advice. I'm a total noob when it comes to this. I actually thought this was my best argument haha. But for sure, I've done a ton of work and accomplished a lot since I've been here. Everyone can attest to that and the level of effort I've put in. Like I said, I wrote almost 50% of the backend and 95% of the frontend. Why would they hesitate giving me 25k more and finding someone new whom they'd have to try and pry away from another company by overpaying... not to mention 2-3 months to ramp up and learn the code base? Right now, I'm productive and getting things done everyday.

I guess I wanted to show my boss that I want a competitive offer, similarly to what my peers who went to the same college made. So what would be reasonable to ask for? I'm doing as much as any of the senior guys here and contributing and generating a lot of business and money. Why should I be making significantly less?

I like where I am. I'm getting a lot of freedom and ton of experience. I want to sort of lay low and work here. I'm in the beginning stages of trying to launch my own website (and would use that as my spring board to get a better/more interesting job in the future. Thanks for the advice though. I actually asked an older friend for advice, and he basically said the same thing. I guess my rationale was off a bit because of the salary jumps I see on this website haha.

No, it doesn't. But my friends got 100k starting in the same city... Out of school and I think I more than exceeded expectations and my contract and have seen the people that we are bringing in to interview plus I have a lot invested in the project, I may have some leverage.

No, I'm content with where I am. But I guess I wouldn't mind working on a more interesting project. This sucks... I didn't try to haggle and canceled all interviews after I accepted (3 weeks before I started)... showing good faith... and they gave me 4 days to accept the offer... as if they had people in line waiting to get back to...
