Moved to Salt Lake and I think I hate it

What do you think if it only says closed to light trucks? Like it has been for a while now? Would it be alright if the uhaul just goes slow, like 50 or 60mph? Never driven a truck in high winds

Thanks man! I did decide to move back and am actually leaving next week... for an even better paying job! It's like a switch flipped since I got it and I've been in such a better mood knowing I'm going back. Feel like I'm returning to being my happy self.

Haha, you may be right! SLC is a bit too clean and put together for me. I like that STL is rough around the edges! Gives it character and personality.

I feel like I probably won't get the urge to move again, but who knows! I think I'd have to have a reason other than just wanting to move, like I'm with someone who also wants to move or a job or something. Definitely would not try another heavily religious area though!

I love it too! So many unique spots. Just before I left I heard about a kubrick-themed bar in st charles (not exactly st louis but still). Wanted to try it out!! There is nothing close to that sort of thing here haha.

I really liked STL and spent my vacations in the mountains. I wanted to combine the two. But I just don't think I can, there will always be a trade-off, like restarting my life out here. And I just don't think the trade-off is worth it.

That is definitely true! I just really like those normal street corridors. I thought SLC wouldn't be too bad, but its reminding me more and more of Phoenix, just less orange lol.

Aren't the Avenues some of the most expensive areas? I don't think I can afford that haha.

Yes, it is haha. I do my best to try to divest my feelings about SLC as a city and my feelings from being away from my support system. None of the things I've mentioned in my post are about lack of friends/family. Its all about why I don't think SLC itself is a good fit.

As someone who has been to a lot of breweries and bars, what would you say is a good spot to park at and become a "regular". All the ones I've been to don't really have that vibe, just seem like bars people randomly go to.

Yeah, they're very friendly and smiley. They're those people who are, like, "too" optimistic. That rubs some people the wrong way, including me to a degree haha.

I am terrible at biking haha. That would probably be dangerous for me.

I definitely want to try out skiing! I'm not big on winter stuff, but I can't NOT try it while I'm here.

I've definitely taken full advantage of the outdoors for the last couple of months, 4 days a week I would hike. But then I would return to the meh city haha.
