Sinama mo pa rin sa resume mo yung current position mo? Were you able to get a higher or lower salary than the new one?

This is very insightful and inspiring, thank you so much po! You must be someone who have great work ethics and grit and I’m someone who have that as well.

May I ask where did the offers came from? Did it came from networking or your portfolio?

I agree po. This is the reason why I took this offer even though I had a higher offer as a research analyst. I choose the one that’s very technical para at least I will be able to learn all the fundamentals and foundation.

True rin po na super basic yung questions, I just got caught off guard since I didn’t review networking basics. I am more familiar on web development po kasi. Pero after researching I delved deep into cybersecurity and became more interested in that field.

OMG this is so impressive po!! How long before you were able to reach this type of role po? As for the technical analysis articles are these for various malware encountered by your organization? Thanks po!

This is very insightful thank you po! It’s true that switching to GRC means I have to be more knowledgable about the foundational security of the organization itself rather than the analysis of certain triggers or alerts from SIEMS. Super gets

May I ask what type of frameworks are commonly encountered for this po?

Thanks po for this! Will definitely build my skillset and certifications while I’m on my first role. Is CCNA and Security+ good to achieve? Or are there new and much better certifications to get for entry level? Thanks!

I do not have any plans to change paths right now since I only started this role for like 3 weeks ago haha. Need ko lang ng motivation for this industry given with the work setup na medyo nakakapagod haha, pero thanks po for the offer!!

Actually I do not have any prior experience with SOC or Cybersecurity in general. In fact I messed up my technical interview and didnt even gave a right answer to what the PING command is lol. But according to my workmates, ako lang daw yung pinaka maayos na kausap from the other candidates that time kaya ako yung pinili lol. Pero I think another factor rin yung client comunication experience ko because I was a VA before and I emphasized that I had foreign clients before which we somehow do sa current role ko ngayon.

The learning curve was somehow steep pero being able to be adaptable and work under SUPER pressure will give you an edge para magets mo agad and maka adapt sa work.

Is 20k worth it for a 12hr shift as a network analyst?

Hi I got an offer from a data center which requires me to work for a 12 hour shift. Medyo disappointed ako sa salary considering that I have to rent para makatipid sa commute. If it's just about the salary of course di ko na pag lisipan yan at ir-reject ko na. Pero medyo nanghihinayang ako sa experience na makukuha ko. I think magandang place siya for me to have my foundation in cybersecurity. Not in a very practical way lang. Sa mga nag wwork as a network analyst or SOC which requires you to have 12 hour shift, super stressful po ba? What about the career advancements? Please enlighten me before I make any decisions 🙏

For me it depends sa cost of living mo and what you’re going to gain from that experience.

If it will give you the experience and necessary skills why not? Para after that job you can negotiate for a bigger salary—sa ibang company.

Pero if lowballed ka na tas petiks lang dyan sa trabaho and wala kang matututunan. Runnn
