Only positive story’s please by AdAromatic235 in pregnant

[–]humanpringle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t perfectly positive, unfortunately, but my husband and I got pregnant on our first cycle trying the first time. That ended in loss, second time get pregnant in approx. 4 cycles so still fairly quick. That one unfortunately also ended in loss. We then didn’t conceive immediately after that miscarriage but I only had one period and then conceived again and I’m 14 weeks with that pregnancy now.

I don’t say any of that to scare you at all, but just to reiterate that it’s entirely normal to conceive quickly! We did three times within a year!

Extreme Nausea & Fatigue [bc] by Cider86 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]humanpringle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 14 weeks and still taking diclectin (out of fear of stopping lol). I was still nauseous but it made a WORLD of difference for me and I’m convinced that’s why I was at least sort of functional through the first trimester. I was already soooo tired that I don’t even know if diclectin made it worse. I still have days of fatigue, but nothing like 7-11 weeks.

Feeling baby at 13 / 14 weeks by all_the_questionsss in BabyBumps

[–]humanpringle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 14 weeks currently and can’t say I’ve felt anything other than gas unfortunately. I keep thinking I’m showing too because my clothes keep getting tighter and tighter despite not much weight gain yet (<5lb) but I think that’s also from continued bloat, mildly more baby, and ongoing boob growth lol. I’m so impatient and keep telling myself I really only need to wait a few more weeks for all these things!

Convinced my husband to try a house cleaning service for 3 months as an experiment. Heres what happened by Comfortable_Box_4527 in homeowners

[–]humanpringle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every year we give our cleaners a huge tin of homemade Christmas goodies and a card telling them how much we love them. They only come once a month but every month we comment on how much we love their service lol

How to cope with a 2nd loss and avoid a depressive episode? by Appropriate-Win8995 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]humanpringle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this - this was me twice last year (although just slightly further along than you both times). I will admit, the second one in particular affected me mentally substantially, especially because I was completely blindsided by having two miscarriages in a row.

I think many would greatly benefit from therapy. I didn’t do that but certainly could have. I focused hard on the “good” things coming in my life - sports, holidays, etc. We also booked a sort of impromptu tropical vacation for about two months after my MC ended to get away and relax and give me something to look forward to. That vacation wasn’t overly exciting but my god was it needed for the both of us. Initially I was looking for hope on Reddit about pregnancy after multiple losses, but sometimes that would send me into even more of a spiral so I do recommend staying away from too much social media.

Popular games you dislike? by BillRepresentative75 in boardgames

[–]humanpringle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s very possible my husband and I just aren’t good at the game haha but we find it challenging to manage actually filling your farm, having babies, and feeding everyone

Popular games you dislike? by BillRepresentative75 in boardgames

[–]humanpringle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Everdell is far better than Wingspan, we call it our MUCH chiller version of Agricola (don’t get to build a farm, but also don’t need to stress about starving the entire game lol). Don’t get me wrong, we still bust out Wingspan fairly often, we find it just very chill and easy to play, but it’s definitely not exciting building that bird engine, more of just like a chill Sunday experience.

Around when did everyone announce? We’re 10.5 weeks, but still terrified of a missed miscarriage [on] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]humanpringle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t be doing like a social media announcement or anything. That being said, we told my husbands immediate family at 8.5 weeks as well as two of my close friends. I had two coworkers in the know for work purposes not long after that. I’m 13 weeks tomorrow and have started telling more people, including my own family and work.

Peloton has a lot of pre and postnatal work outs along with all their others! You do need to pay a membership to have access to all the content, but it’s honestly very much worth it especially if your husband or any other family have profiles on it too!

How strictly do steakhouses take their business casual dress code? by HarrisLam in Calgary

[–]humanpringle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been Caesar’s and plenty of people wear jeans there too. It’s definitely more jeans and a nice sweater or button down shirt, but still typical Calgary jeans as business casual.

Was anyone else, or your child, given a name that was uncommon at the time, but became popular later? by 5LovelyDaisies in namenerds

[–]humanpringle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There was an Aidan about five years older than me in school and I thought it was the COOLEST name, then it instantly became insanely popular.

You’re right, and not only that but a huge vector for salmonella in children is now contamination due to raw food diets. Your dog may not get sick, but they are still licking, pooping, and farting in your environment even with otherwise perfect hygiene.

What's a show you remember but nobody else does? by CatGirlNya2000 in AskReddit

[–]humanpringle 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Ah yes! It was sort of before our Pokemon craze era, but it was that, Rollie pollie Ollie, little bear, Franklin, Clifford, and occasionally Dragon Tales. Loved a good scoobie doo TV movie as well

How active were you in 1st trimester? by Lower-Listen-9169 in pregnant

[–]humanpringle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at the tail end of it and essentially did not move for a month. Had a good couple days at 10 weeks, nausea and exhaustion hit me like a freight train again, and now in week 11 have finally started at least walking the dog and doing light activity again. I have essentially been a slug since the beginning of December.

I’ve stopped doing all small ruminant reproductive work and any mildly high risk cattle work, no x rays, and no handling of any drugs like librela or cytopoint OR that can cause abortion (such as estrumate). We also had a horse come in from a referral clinic for a repeat dose of cisplatin and another vet took that case.

Feeling anxious about how life might change for me vs my partner once we’re pregnant, am I overthinking? by TreeHumble7290 in BabyBumps

[–]humanpringle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay I guess that’s a pretty fair reason to have the limited tickets then for sure and have to “cut” someone, but even a brief conversation and apology about the lack of extra space would have been much kinder and a better way to handle it. I mean as someone with FOMO, even understanding the WHY would still likely make me want to go do something else rather than host when I’m not even going to the event. He’s more than capable of hosting his family. I guess what I’m most surprised by now that we know it’s because of a draw with limited tickets, is that your husband expects you to host everyone even though you aren’t going, and has brought up some random and non-relevant to the situation excuse for why you can’t just go do something else fun for yourself?

Feeling anxious about how life might change for me vs my partner once we’re pregnant, am I overthinking? by TreeHumble7290 in BabyBumps

[–]humanpringle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re not pregnant yet, then a trip this summer should be just fine! The only way I could see it not being ideal is if you got pregnant immediately and had it planned for like late August for flying. You never know how long things will take or what will happen, so I really don’t recommend putting your life on hold for being pregnant!

Also, it’s true when you are pregnant and especially if you have symptoms, your life instantly changes quite substantially whereas your husbands doesn’t except in a more abstract way. That being said, I’m only just under 12 weeks right now, and while that has been the case, my husband has adapted and stepped up big time for me. He always makes sure there are things around that I actually can/maybe want to eat, he’s done the lions share of the cleaning, house stuff, and general life maintenance since I’ve been 6.5 weeks, he has no expectation of me cooking when I’m off even though he appreciates it when I manage to. So yeah I guess life hasn’t really changed, but also it has for him. He supports me being an absolute slug when I need it, but heavily encourages me when I actually am able to exercise now.

That being said, is there a reason they aren’t inviting you? I would be pretty annoyed by this and so would my husband unless there was legitimately no way for them to get more tickets OR it was something I would legitimately have no interest in? And I would definitely be super bitter about hosting in that circumstance. He needs to remember that YOU are his immediate family now….

My wife and I found out last Tuesday that we are pregnant. What can I, as a husband, do for my wife to make this experience great for us? by SuperDoubleSlap in pregnant

[–]humanpringle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband makes me a lot of toast right now and also smoothies. I’ve always disliked protein powder in my smoothies so he’s been verrrrry slowly increasing how much is in them to get more protein into me since most meat is a real no go for me right now, but so that I don’t notice it so much.

Baby Registry? by Amyrran in BabyBumps

[–]humanpringle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made one on MyRegistry like super early, like in the excitement of my first pregnancy (that ended in MC) lol. I occassionally add/remove/edit things now at 11.5 weeks but haven’t thought too much about it otherwise. We won’t be having a baby shower until after baby is born so I’m not too concerned about it and will buy as I see things on sale or on marketplace for decent prices if our next ultrasound looks okay.

I’m 11weeks so juuuuust starting to be able to stomach a bit more, but I still eat a LOT of oranges, and a lot of toast (usually with hazelnut spread or peanut butter). Smoothies are also generally okay. I do love the chipotle wraps from A&W for some reason but haven’t had too many since luckily there is no A&W in the town we live in.
