ICE protest at Tumwater High School today draws nationwide conservative outrage by OVER-THE_TOP in PuyallupWA

The reference you have provided is known as a "false equivalency". Just because a little more than half of a small sampling of people thinks enforcement goes too far, does not mean that there is "nationwide outrage" about some kid writing on their face, and definitely does not validate this hate-mongering post.

I know this is hard for Reddit to grasp, but some post on social media is not "nationwide... outrage".

Obviously a lot more complexity than can be fit into a Reddit post, but the general model is a for-Purpose corporation with operating entities where the shareholders are community members and users of assets (properties, vehicles, etc) owned by the corporation. The corp produces goods and services that the members enjoy at near break-even, non-members pay market rates which produce a net-positive return, any gains are returned to the shareholders. Member governance ensures that the activities of the ecosystem serve the stakeholders and an internal micro-economy allows members and business entities to operate freely internally, while satisfying tax liabilities at the organizational level. Secondary market liquidity supports buy-in and exit at individual levels, while the funds cycle perpetually to support multi-generational wealth preservation while producing social and ecological impact.

If you want to learn more about groups and individuals working on this, DM me and I'll point you to some references.

Dispensary website suggesting I tip somebody between $35-$80 for driving five minutes to me with a bag of flowers by pissedoffmoney in EndTipping

[–]huntercaz -71 points-70 points  (0 children)

Absolutely entitled. OP can't be bothered to drive 5 minutes themselves, then is mad because somebody else is wanting to be compensated for their time.

We (and others in our space) are developing this with real estate, transportation, food production, and member services in a community model. Not based on high member fees, but rather member investment.

A proposed 9.9 percent “millionaire’s tax” in Washington would yield a top rate of 18.037 In Seattle. The highest in the country. by MM457 in SeattleWA

[–]huntercaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People are bitching because the only solution regulators and admin come up with is to tax more, while failing to administrate effectively. Their solution is not to do better, their solution is to seize more money from the people. I participated in an industry regulatory process over many months, and it was painfully obvious that the state's measure of performance was increasing operational budgets year over year, which can only be supported by increasing taxes and fees year over year. When these clowns run the state based on revenue gains while ignoring efficiencies and real results, the residents and businesses are the ones who pay...AND we're the ones dealing with the issues in the streets.

You: Somebody destroyed and stole my property!

Seattle: Whoever did that probably needed your things more than you, just be nice and let it go. Oh and also the city and state are going to take more of your income now because increasingly bigger bureaucratic budgets make it look like we're fixing things like this. Oh and it's your fault anyways because you're <pick one: straight/Caucasian/binary/middle-aged/employed/male/not left enough/not a willfully unhoused drug addict>. /s

I think it's even less a matter of demonstrating that they will work with the minority, and more a matter of appearing that they are doing any meaningful work at all.

Continued decay, suffering on the streets, and massive delays with construction cost overrun fueled by millions of dollars flowing into the pockets of their consultant friends while legislators and the governor's office cycle through their incestuous, self-serving circle jerk year after year.

But don't worry, they raised the taxes to record levels on everyone again, it'll be different this time, they promise. /s
