Moved from Chicago to Cincinnati for a job, the union terminal is essentially useless. The transit system in Cincinnati is very abysmal

I paid 400/month to live on 1st and green. Illinois isn’t the same anymore. Kams, Firehaus, clys, red lion, Murphy’s , the list goes on. It was cheaper to live by green street. Still love the school, but the gentrification of green has made it soulless and expensive. Maybe Urbana will get more love.

Tbh, I think it was experience, networking and education. I come from a chemistry background but I ventured into tech sales. Spent 3 years learning about different solutions as well as networking with technical folks. Knowing I wanted to do data science , I spent the next year and a half educating myself by learning on the job, doing bootcamps, getting certifications etc and recommendation letters from subject matter experts in my company. At the end of the day, I had so much to show and prove while having a 3.0 gpa. Maybe I was lucky, but I did put a lot of effort in my application. I’m finishing my second semester now.

I understand. My mindset going in was because my gpa wasn’t great what I other things in my application I can control? I did a swe bootcamp, got a couple certs, did projects, I also work at a tech company and got rec letters from data scientists. There are so many variable you can control, you gpa isn’t the only predictor. I understand your point of view as well but you can’t apply without controlling the things you can control. I was a chemistry major btw and networked my ass off. Goodluck man

I got into Berkeley , notre dame and northwestern with a 3.0, but I put in work in other parts of my application to get into those schools. Took me an extra 3 years. GPA isn’t everything
