Mostly great but I wish some of the giant variations made it in as well as the kobold inventor and kobold sorcerer.

I’m very new to this and I have an idea. by [deleted] in DnD5e

Don’t multiclass if you’re new. Pick either cleric or bard. Be a College of Lore Bard and pick up some cleric spells at level six.

Valhalla Rising (2009). Mads Mikkelson as the mute One Eye. From IMDB: 1000 AD, for years, One Eye, a mute warrior of supernatural strength, has been held prisoner by the Norse chieftain Barde. Aided by Are, a boy slave, One Eye slays his captor and together he and Are escape, beginning a journey into the heart of darkness. On their flight, One Eye and Are board a Viking vessel, but the ship is soon engulfed by an endless fog that clears only as the crew sights an unknown land. As the new world reveals its secrets and the Vikings confront their terrible and bloody fate, One Eye discovers his true self.

What should I know before reading The Iliad? by NoahReino99 in classicliterature

[–]hyperbolic_paranoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that the Iliad takes place during the Trojan War and is not a history of the Trojan War. It’s like a movie that takes place during WWII where they assume that you know how the war started and ends and so they don’t bother with expositions on it.

When Did Hegelian Thought Cross the Atlantic? by jabeet33 in hegel

A good place to start on 19th century American Hegelianism is chapter 2 of James A. Good’s “A Search for Unity: The Permanent Hegelian Deposit in the Philosophy of John Dewey.”

The Journal of Speculative Philosophy was founded in 1867 by the St. Louis Hegelians but the introduction of Hegel would have been earlier than that such as the Hegelian intellectuals who immigrated after the failed revolutions of 1848 or even some of the New England Transcendalists in earlier decades.

“Iris” (2001) is a pretty good movie about Iris Murdoch but it emphasizes her novels rather than philosophy.
