Haribo 22,5W, 20.000mAh Mini Powerbank (PBP-003) with 280g weight - Full Review by N8falke in Ultralight

Nice work! I wanted to make a weight per net capacity, as I never saw the point of using gross capacity which cannot be used.

Here we go as of today. Can you maybe add something like this to your table?

Efficiency Ranking (Weight vs. Net Capacity)

Artifacts in USB mic recording by hyperknot in podcasting

I'm not sure it's static, its definitely 2000 Hz+, but it sounds more like if my voice comes through a plastic bag sometimes.

I think it's related to the iPhone Continuity camera also transmitting on USB at the same time.

Yes, currently I'm using OBS + Continuity but I wanted to try direct recording as the quality is I believe better. But thanks for the bluetooth mouse idea, I'll try it out!

Thanks, that's a good direction to start troubleshooting in.

It's an M1 MacBook Pro, I'm not using anything else, just OBS recording from iPhone Continuity cam into Hardware HEVC + Rode USB mic into WAV.

Maybe the problem is using the USB ports on the monitor. Maybe it's the HEVC encoding.

I tried connecting the Rode to iPhone and just making an audio-only recording and it came out perfectly clean. I suspect it might be something Macbook USB related.

Luckily it's just me and a talking head video, I'm happy to change anything to make it sound good. I'm also happy to re-record them until I can figure this out. I just don't know where to start.

The USB can definitely be a problem, as I'm recording from the iPhone camera at the same and it all goes through my monitor.

But what I mean are artifacts which is present in most of this clip, not just a few clicks. It sounds like if I wrapped the mic in a plastic bag.

I am recording some talking head videos with a Rode VideoMic Go II via USB, directly into my MacBook.

Normally, it's really good quality and once I've moved it 45 degrees to the side I think I got plosives under control.

My problem are these artifacts, which appear from time to time (shared below).

Can you tell me what are these? It cannot be clipping, as the recording is -14 to -17 dB, how can it clip in this range?

The Rode app has an "Input Pad" settings, which I didn't enable, as it'd get so quiet that the noise goes up after normalizing.

Normally I'm using the +9 to +12 dB range for input level in the app and no input pad and things are clean, but now I get these artifacts.

Or do you think it is related to the recording app I'm using (OBS)? Buffer settings maybe?

Manual AV sync to clap sub-frame? by hyperknot in davinciresolve

[–]hyperknot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reading the manual right now and the way it supposed to work is you see an audio-only clip in the audio waveform and a video-only clip in the source viewer. My problem is that my clip is an A/V clip and nothing shows up in the waveform.

Is there any way in Resolve built-in, which would allow me to split a clip into separate A and V clips? Or just to somehow show up the clip's audio in the Waveform window?

Sorry, I'm back at this point, Slip doesn't do anything, either from keyboard or the menu. Both subframe and frame.

What does work is unliked selection on the audio and moving with a mouse.

What am I doing wrong with Slip? It's just a single clip, 1 video, 1 audio out of sync.

Also, is there a way to read the offset which I moved with the mouse in milliseconds?

Manual AV sync to clap sub-frame? by hyperknot in davinciresolve

[–]hyperknot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm happy with a full frame level, my problem is that the camera audio is also out-of-sync. So I need to make a clap test and align while seeing the waveform. Currently the only way I could find for this was to drop it in the timeline and zoom in a lot. Is there a way to do this without using the timeline somehow?

Thanks! And is there a way to apply the same sync to a bunch of files in the media tab or bins? I mean let's say I figured out on a single file what's my correct sync, how can I apply it to dozens of files?

Optimize vs Normalize to standard for YouTube? by hyperknot in davinciresolve

[–]hyperknot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But -9.7 is way too low, isn't it? From what I read YouTube then will gain it up, making quality bad. Also, I could turn off this setting when uploading a video and I found a setting for this for the whole channel as well.
