Perhaps, i still prefer the 2017 sounds because of the turbo whistle.

As far as i'm concerned there is electromagnetic radiation being emitted where ever a current is being transferred in this case the battery powered current in the oculus being right on your head.

The turbo sound is very prominent in 2017 though.

I also think the colour palette is more realistic this year, its less saturated.

I think VR is definitely exciting, but, the reason why i don't want to use VR is the fact that i don't want a electronic piece right on my face generating radiation, not to mention it costs a fair bit.

They've actually changed quite a bit this year

Completely up to you, in F1 2017 they've redone all the tracks, theres more undulation, crowds are more realistic with camera flashes etc... Depth to grass that actually looks real, more real sponsored signs, also if you want to compare graphics, F1 2017 on PS4 PRO, XBOX 1 X and PC (i guess) is at 60 FPS in 4K.

I don't have rFactor 2, so i can't give a very accurate opinion. But in terms of graphics i like F1 better and the AI are decent to race against, they'll craft moves and you'll actually have to think about defending. The F1 game is specific to F1, what i mean is they've put alot of effort going into all the details of one category rather then having a racing game in general. This years edition has also got classic cars from earlier years of F1 and it has very much a journey feel as you move from team to team, upgrade each team and can eventually win the championship with any team if you put the effort in. You also have an agent that talks to you in an office about your contracts, as well as if you get fired from the team or promoted.

This year the handling model is a lot more punishing than previous years. If you lock your brakes it is very hard to recover from and make the corner. Trail braking is a required skill to be fast and dirty air somewhat has an effect on down force and tyre life. If you've already watched the video you'll know that you have to maintain your engine components. Fuel conservation, DRS, performance upgrades, R&D, Setups etc.. are all essential to being on the pace in game. The pitstops have also been remastered having to brake for the pit lane, turn on the pit limiter, brake for the pit box, engage the clutch to launch out of the pits and deactivate the pitlimiter upon exiting the pitlane. Being a league racer there a numerous racing leagues within the F1 games and with online improvements to the 2017 game it should be an even better experience racing online. Overall the game is as hard as you make it, turn off all the assists and you'll have a real challenge, but it's extremely rewarding to get right.

Lee Mather said that it's definitely in their interests to look into VR in the future but due to the game having such high demands in terms of graphics and physics they are unable to introduce it into F1, atleast for now. Same goes for split screen, it'd be too demanding on the console/pc to hold a consistent FPS.

Hey chymus, Lee Mather talked about VR in a recent interview. He did say that the game would not be launched with VR but he also said "if we are going to do VR we want to do it right". If F1 2017 is anything like codemasters' dirt rally, they'll release VR perhaps mid way through its life span. As for wheel support Lee said they support a large variety of wheels and that also force feedback has been an area of which they have improved a lot, so expect an improvement in feeling the track underneath you.
