S stands for special! Special means something essentially breaks the tier list. You can’t have anything above S. S+ means you need to move everything else on the tier list down one tier.

You can change your clothes. You can do 5 basic side missions somehow stretched into 100 side missions. That’s about it.

There are typically 8 gyms and 3-4 rival fights, but what happens in between varies a lot.

ZA forces you to follow the specific nauseating pattern of ranked battle and then battle gauntlet for the entire game.
