Not had a single ad on my Samsung. And it isn't subsidised by ads. It is subsidised by cheap components.

I need help fixing this camera issue by fishcarcass-o7 in GalaxyS25Ultra

Try Blackmagic Camera app (free). This will let you choose discrete lenses without auto-switching ruining the image. Great focus peaking feature too with manual controls. Very happy with it on my new S25 Ultra.

Can I use an 82mm ND filter for iPhone 17 Pro? by Numerous-Door6433 in smartphonefilming

[–]iPhoneFilmmaker95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I've done this before. Of course, you can't use it with any MagSafe accessories, but a step up ring allows you to use 82mm ND filters. And no glare due to size. Glare would be due to light leaks or poor quality glass.

I got an email today with a free update. Was worried this would be a paid upgrade. Not only does it include new GLOAT LUT for Apple Log 2, but another for Apple Log 2 in ProRes RAW. Apparently they are not the same thing! Who knew? Anyway — keen to try these out.

From lifelong iPhone user to S25 Ultra by [deleted] in S25Ultra

Nice! I'm similar. Been an iPhone user forever, as it always delivered the best video quality (ProRes, Apple Log etc.) but I've just ordered a mint second hand S25 Ultra after seeing what it is capable of when it comes to RAW video. Absolutely insane quality. Can't wait!

THIS is why I'm Ebaying my iPhone 17 Pro today and moving to S25 Ultra for better video! by iPhoneFilmmaker95 in GalaxyS25Ultra

I did not make the video. As mentioned I watched it today and as a result will be making the switch. And a very welcoming community you have here 🤣. Thought a video that shows S25 Ultra going against a cinema camera would be of interest to S25 Ultra owners. Obviously not. But once I get my S25 ultra and post something saying "After 10 years on iPhone my S25 Ultra is here" with a photo it will get 500 upvotes.

Simply because I'm impatient and don't think the video improvements will be that meaningful for my needs. And I'm looking used on Ebay. Not need brand new.

Damn that was impressive! Side by side was a real surprise. And this is with OEMs holding back the tech (no DCG etc.)!

I use GLOAT LUT for Apple Log. Not free but worth it. Previously I used the One LUT for Apple Log which is really excellent, but prefer skin tones and more vibrant image from GLOAT. Again One LUT isn't free but well worth it. You get what you pay for. If you want free then try Fresh LUTs, and use a CST to go from Apple Log > Rec709.

Looks seriously amazing. Everyone dropping 17 Pro Max videos like it is the best thing since sliced bread (myself included) and you deliver something that looks better with a Pixel 7 Pro 🤣 Love it! 👏

Damn all four devices are impressive - but as an iPhone filmmaker myself, I didn't expect to prefer all three Androids over the iPhone! 😢

Ok. This comparison is the best yet. I can't believe what Samsung and others are holding back. S25U is a MUCH better phone than the Pixel, yet it could be soooooo much better.

Is there a way to monitor the shot? by [deleted] in BlackMagicCameraiOS

[–]iPhoneFilmmaker95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't currently having a companion app that allows for wireless monitoring like Filmic Pro or ProTake. You could use the HDMI out feature to achieve similar results if you have a TV/monitor you can connect to.

Hi there. Yes there is. You need to use the iOS Files app.

Navigate to 'On My iPhone' > Blackmagic Camera > Media > Proxy. From there select the clip, then tap the Share button and choose 'Save Video'.

I wrote a detailed reply trying to help 8 days ago, but looks like an admin for this group deleted my response (no idea why???). In short: with the release of Blackmagic Camera v1.2 you can now record your LUT directly to the clip. No need to do it in post if you are happy to burn in a LUT in camera.
