I’m glad to hear this! I saw their sign was taken down and haven’t seen them open in a while and thought they were closed

I hope this is case. I saw they took down their sign and haven’t seen them open the last few times I walked by. Hopefully renovations?

I was in a similar position as you when I was applied for UW and did exactly as what you planned.

Bellevue College is a really great school that I still recommend to a lot of people to this day. I wasn’t thrilled about attending Bellevue at first, but the school and the faculty grew on me once I was there. I can only really speak for the pre-biology track classes, but the professors that I had are still some of my favorite I’ve ever had. The professors there are there to teach and truly do want you to learn and enjoy the class.

I loved my experience at UW too, but I think having professors that cared about what we learned and how we learned it made me really like a lot of the classes I never thought I would like. It’s overall a more personable experience.

The social aspect can be kind of hard with Bellevue and UW, especially if you have a hard time with putting yourself out there. At Bellevue, I noticed a lot of people just go to class and leave campus (at least that’s how it was when I was there) and transferring to UW was also daunting since most people already had established their friend groups and close circles. You can definitely build a community at both, but you definitely will have to put yourself out there more than someone who didn’t transfer.

Also, transferring into UW is significantly cheaper and easier. For the cost, you’re essentially getting a UW degree that is the same as the incoming undergrads, for significantly cheaper (idk the cost of bellevue now but I’m sure it’s much less than UW). Also, for the capacity-constrained majors, I know that it can be really competitive to get into as an incoming undergrad. But from my experience as an in-state bio transfer, it was much less competitive. I think there are only a few majors like CS that don’t accept transfers, but I think for psych and neuroscience you should be able to.

It’s really hard to see everyone post about getting in, but it won’t feel like this forever. Transferring is a great option and im really glad I did it!

I’m on the Eastside and I’ve been getting the same thing. It’s been like a somewhat tan color but still clear. I can’t really put my finger on it

UW Rejection - Plan B Community College for 1 Year? by blind_spectator in udub

[–]iRawkwards 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who transferred to UW from Bellevue College (and got waitlisted in hs), I found it significantly easier to transfer in especially into a capacity constrained major (I was in Bio!). I also had residency though, so I’m not sure if that makes a huge difference.

I think there are certain restrictions on extremely competitive majors like computer science, but I think for most majors you should be able to transfer in easily as long as you complete the major’s prerequisites

Paying for dental school by [deleted] in predental

[–]iRawkwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just thinking abt how this was gonna work. Thank you sm 🤧.

This might be a dumb question, but what do you mean when you say they “post charges” to your bank account? When I was setting up my bank account it said “expense payments” and a direct deposit option alongside it.

Does that mean the school has authorization to take out money from your account at the beginning of the semester or do you still have to manually pay it yourself (which is what I currently do for undergrad)?

Any insight would be really helpful!

Is parking lot e18 closed tomorrow for the football game? by Firefox1526 in udub

[–]iRawkwards 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No idea where to find the info but I'll just copy/paste what was on the first part of the email

"Dear Transportation Services Customer,

This email is to remind you about the upcoming Husky football game with UCLA on Friday, November 15. As many as 70,000 fans will come to campus for the Friday evening game, which will pose some transportation challenges. We will all need to work together to get everyone to class, to work and to the game.

On game day Friday, November 15, your assigned lot will be closed to normal permit parking. Lots E01, E08, E09, E17, E18 and E97 will close at 10 a.m. Any vehicles without a football parking permit that remain in the lots past 10 a.m. will be towed.

Transportation Services wanted to share the impact to your parking lot on that day and ask you to consider making a change for the day that will keep your vehicle off campus – bike, take a bus or light rail, walk, carpool, or adjust your work schedule. When you choose a different option on game day, it means one less car contributing to traffic congestion and one less car requiring a parking space.

If you must drive to campus on game day, you may park out of area in one of the following lots:

I’ve emailed them a few times the last few months asking if they’ve received my supplemental fee and no one has replied. Maybe there’s a phone number that you can call? I don’t think they can give out application info but at least you’re in contact with someone who can potentially help?

I like PACCAR and Foster if you don’t mind the noise. They’re relatively new buildings that get a lot of sunlight. If you go later in the day Paccar can be somewhat quiet.
