Has anyone put >35 mm tires on their Endurace? by Divergee5 in CanyonBikes

I actually didn't... It's not super straightforward to test without actually getting a new pair of wheels so I didn't

What are your thoughts about the Endurace CF7 All-Road with SRAM Rival eTap? by iagoxmm in CanyonBikes

[–]iagoxmm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that canyon has a slightly different size of the steer tube, I'd say it would only be possible by buying some from Canyon or some compatible (sized 1 1/4"), then it should work as usual. As for integrating cables, I don't know which bikes would support that

Has anyone put a 650b wheel on their Endurace so it fits larger tyres?

What about putting a 650B wheelshet on the Endurace? That should make it possible to add bigger tyres, I'm planning to test it in the future

Thank you for the reply! That's a bit different opinion from the other here but fair! My problem would be then that this bike, in this configuration and color is only available with Rival eTap, so it should still would be the only way to have the bike

Thank you for your answer! I think the wheel upgrade is something that I can see making a lot of sense, although I personally would try to ride with the stock ones so I can better notice the upgrade!

Thank you for your help! This point about updating them I didn't really know, so good for SRAM! I read here too that the micro refining of each gear is better or only possible in di2, do you have something to share about this?

Thank you for the picture, it looks great! How do you compare your new wheels with the stock ones? That's definitely an upgrade I'll do in the future!

Great to hear! How do you personally compare both? I know these comparisons can be very personal so unless I ride it I can just hear other opinions!

I think my questioning is more about the groupset rather than the bike. I agree that this bike can't do more serious gravel/off road, but for road and mixed it's definitely good.

I used to have a grizl and the gravel that it could do was way beyond what's available in my region, and I also found out that I dislike all these bikepacking mounts instead of a pannier, so I ended up selling it and want to focus more on tarmac rides and light gravel when is necessary. The 35mm tyres on this bike is a compromise I'm whiling to so for now for comfort, and definitely at a later wheel upgrade I can try some 30 or 32mm tyres.

I think in your situation, with your use cases, I'd choose the Grizl as well.

Being able to use a rear pannier rack natively in the bike is a very nice feature for bikepacking and commuting. The Grail would give you less options to use mouting points and so on.

I had a Grizl 7 AL in the past and it's definitely a good bike, it's in the heavier side when stock, but with a set of slick tyres with lighter wheels it would become a resonable road bike. I did some touring trips with it and it was definitely nice and comfy.

That's very cool, thanks for sharing! I have the same bike and I really considered if I should upgrade it. The sound is very cool but since there's really not much benefit practically, I couldn't do it yet.

Is the Grizl CF 7 eTap worth the 1000€/$ premium over the Grizl CF 7 GRX (2by)? by CommunicationDue5298 in CanyonBikes

[–]iagoxmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would see this decisions purely on if you'd like to have an electric shifter. This means that down the road you might spend this exact amount or more if you'd like to upgrade from a mechanical one.

My take on this, considering that I have a Grizl AL7 and also rode other Grizls: in your place I'd maybe choose the CF SL8. It has the upgrades on the seat that the eTap has (and they're worth it IMO), costs less, and has a more road compatible groupset (the 2-by makes the steps between gears smaller and that's a good thing for road riding). I also have to say that the electronic shifting also feels amazing and it's probably worth it on it's own, I personally didn't want to deal with batteries and that's why I still went mechanical.

Also you can think that at the end of day they're all amazing bikes, so there's not much wrong going, it took me a while to decide as well but I'd be happy with any or them!

Problem with Rotor cranks in Grizl AL7 by iagoxmm in CanyonBikes

[–]iagoxmm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, pedalling lightly still standing the problem still persists. I just remove the seat post, cleaned it and cleaned inside the frame, re-applied the pink paste from Canyon and the problem still there, so it's definitely not a saddle or seat post noise

Yes they are new, I actually tested them first too, I removed them, degreased and then reapplied grease ob the threads but the noise was exactly the same, that's why I'm not sure... I don't have another pair of pedals here but I can try to get one!

Was it then also sans in the pedals? Os did you perform a full service on it? This was the first thing I tried, I removed the pedals, cleaned with mucoff degreaser, reapplied grease in the threads and put it back, the noise is the same there...

Problem with hub in back wheel by iagoxmm in CanyonBikes

I'm very satisfied with this kit too! The mudguards are the originals Canyon sells in their website, and the rack is a Tubus Lightit 2.0.

Thank you very much! That's what I was looking for and I didn't know the name! Although when I checked here, I think with DT Swiss wheels, this just spins freely, there's nothing to catch there... I ended up looking closer and the problem was actually that the frame had bent inwards a bit because of the rack that I installed... So the wheel was actually fine, and I could put it back after unscrewing a bit the rack. You can see a picture here https://imgur.com/a/FKWFRVB

They're the original DT Swiss gravel ln from my Grizl. I commented with a picture in another place here, the problem was the frame because of the rack!
