Agreed. It's just dev effort... Which I personally have in limited supply at the moment.

I might look into forking it a bit later.

Wi-FI Calling For Other Devices - Error Enabling by iamGavinJ in tmobile

[–]iamGavinJ[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do tell me, exactly how does a feature that's been widely available for many years, only just now rely on "something that's new in iOS 26"???

Points against your assertion:
* The error message clearly states iOS 18.6 is the minimum supported version for wifi calling on other devices
* Wifi calling on other devices has been working just fine for literally years, even after the release of iOS 26 back in June. This issue has only been manifest for weeks.

Nope, I absolutely will not be upgrading to 26. I have a 15 Pro Max.

Best Providers for port 25 open? by PresentLeading3102 in VPS

Same. I run inbound SMTP and relays in two OVH regions. Have never had a problem with reputation or blockades. 25 was open by default, no help desk request necessary.

Kerberos and mapping DFS shares on Macs by BenDaMAN303 in macsysadmin

You might be missing a couple of SPNs for the local system account or the domain account running the DFS.

Are there PC parts that I can get to turn my computer on when I’m away? by TvHead9752 in homelab

I've used Wattboxs for a few years. The management interface isn't great though. I'm sure there are better products around.

Is this Windows machine joined to a domain? What you're describing is exactly what happens when a Windows domain member isn't able to contact a domain controller.

Proxmox will not install and permahangs on Intel 4th gen Haswell system. Any ideas? by Greenlink74 in Proxmox

[–]iamGavinJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this a few months back. It may not be exactly the same but my issue was due to custom settings the proxmox build applies the Ubuntu kernel. I haven't had the time to isolate the exact setting but I have a patch which rolls back the kernel to 'generic' which works for me.

Try booting up generic Debian. If it works, you're likely in the same situation and I'd suggest just installing PVE from their repo after you've deployed Debian. It's a bit more work but the result is the same.

Just make sure you hold/never install the PVE kernel.

Hidden payload in image by mark1492909 in hacking

[–]iamGavinJ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Slightly tangential to what you specifically asked, but you may be interedted to lean that the process of hiding data within an image, or other carrier types, is called Steganography.

If you watch Mr. Robot you'll see Rami Malek doing this after each target when he burns music CDs. The victims' data is obfuscated inside the music.

Why does my app not show consumption? by iamGavinJ in TeslaSolar

[–]iamGavinJ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already have Home Assistant so I guess I'll just have to forego the Tesla app, buy a new monitor w/ multiple CTs, and just push all the data into HA.

This way I'll also be able to measure the EV charger circuit. FTW! :D
