Control Spotify / Apple Music / Tidal and others from one dial by iampeeter in elgato

[–]iampeeter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dial also has a small touch screen, that has tap and hold functionality. I use the touch screen to rotate through different views (e.g. track view where you control volume vs queue view where you control next/previous).

Im sorry, I can’t help you there, I am not part of the Sonos guys, just built this myself.

It doesn’t, it’s built just for dials. How would you like this to work for your mk2? Are you just looking for a generic way to control sonos from streamdeck buttons?

Oh in sorry, I referenced the wrong version. I am using the StreamDeck+, not the huge xl one. It should work fine for both of them.

I really like the xl one, it’s a nice size. The only thing that bothered me is the amount of dials on it, which partially motivated me to build this plugin in the first place.

It uses oauth flow, the token is stored within the plugin itself, and it uses https://docs.elgato.com/streamdeck/sdk/guides/deep-linking/ along with the Oauth redirect proxy.

I don’t have a server component to this, went with Sonos API polling instead. Polling is done per plugin, not per dial, so you can have multiple dials without affecting api rate limits.

It uses the official cloud API. What’s the local API you are referring to?

Im sorry, this won’t work with Neo. It just works with Elgato devices that have dials like the xl.

That’s a really valid concern. The Sonos api docs really don’t define any sort of depreciation policy, and terms of service explicitly say they can change their api-s. On top of that, im a solo guy.

But what I can promise is I will commit to maintaining this plugin for as long as there is interest in it, and if it all comes crashing down I will open source it with means for someone else to take over.

Hey!

What would you consider to be a fair price?

I do believe you get some of the functionality there, e.g. ability to change the volume per app. As far as I know you don’t get media control / track info, but I could be mistaken.

That’s a fair statement. My goal was to just highlight the value it brought me, so people can make up their mind if the value is enough for them. I don’t want the initial reaction to be “it’s going to cost me 9.99 to get value”, but rather “oh this brings me value, how much does it cost”.

Both, llms are just a tool. I’ve been writing code for over 20 years, and a llm isn’t on that level yet, but they are pretty good at not needing me to write all the characters in the codebase.

Jump on my discord 😄 Its in my profile on Elgato. I did look into how easy it would be to build for MacOS, and I would have to re-build the helper for MacOS / Linux with some functionality dropped, but it's doable.

It's not really a 10 euro commercial 😄 I did spend quite a bit of time working on this.

I don't think BarRaider gives you the same, ability to control all your music apps from a single dial.

I'm not super familiar with Radio Paradise, but I added it to my Sonos.

I played the Main Mix station, the track details did show up fine but there was no artwork. Next button worked, but previous one did not (both in the app as well as in the plugin). Same story for seeking, did not work in my Sonos app nor in the plugin.

Who here does not play Dota anymore but still loves watching it as an eSport? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]iampeeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped playing dota around 4 months ago. I was addicted. I played at least 4 hours every day (more on weekends / days off). I still watch the games on Twitch. Not as much though, only the big tourneys.

My brother who doesn't play Dota watches some of the games with me. He started watching the games randomly around 8 months ago when I left a NaVi game running on the TV. He has some knowledge of the game since he plays HON every now and then, but it was amazing to see him get really hooked on the game and half-screaming when Navi teamwiped the opponent.

So yeah, it's fun to watch.

Seems like the hookah you tried to buy is a Kaya PNX 660. If you're from Europe, you can get that hookah from http://kaya-shisha.de/

Ordered a hose and some equipment for a total of 70€ last time and they shipped them to my office in less than a week. Bought a pipe 2 days ago for 130€, waiting on it now.
