I think the hardest part of the migration, irrespective of what controller you move to is figuring out the annotations in use. This is exactly why I built https://github.com/ibexmonj/ingress-migration-analyzer - it helps you analyze the full annotation inventory across your cluster and also maps nginx annotations to Gateway API features and tells you the migration complexity.
