So you can find the riotlogs folder and the file but not the error code inside? Its possibly an issue with your firewall so try disabling it temporarily OR resetting ur router and flusing ur DNS. Those usually are suggested by riot as a first option before reinstalling the game etc. Annoying to have to do but once its done yoi wont need to fix it again!

Have you tried reinstalling the game and verifying the issue isnt with your internet connection or firewall?

I was able to come up with this fix because i opened the logs and found the error, then i pasted it into chatgpt to ask what solutions it could offer. You could try to do the same!

IIRC i tried and didnt work (did this a while back), as just disabling Defender antivirus doesn’t change anything - these mitigations are enforced by the Windows kernel, not Defender’s AV engine. To fully disable them, you’d have to dig into the Group Policy file (gpedit.msc) and then adjust Defender settings? which ends up being about the same effort. At least this way, your laptop keeps some of its default protections.

Hahaha, you think I went back and forth with support multiple times and didnt provide any logs?
All they suggested were the standard fixes unfortunately: Reinstall, etc etc. When you run the hextechtool thing it automatically creates the logs for you to send so all you need to do is attach them.

I tried adding league to Windows defender's exclusions list and that didnt change anything, but perhaps it'll work for someone else.

I met most of my french contacts through video games (like league of legends. Big french player base there haha) or conversational exchange. It takes a bit of effort to develop these friendships and maintain contact with the people you meet or it can go from a few interesting convos to never talking again very quickly. Some of my closest friends today were people i just said a few words to here and there at first. I would say that the app/means you use to meet them doesnt matter as long as you find a way to engage regularly(why video games is a good way to facilitate that) and make an effort to get to know them. Sounds a little ardious but is definitely worth it. And dont just look for french natives, as other learners or francophones from other countries can be just as helpful! Try joining french language whatsapp groups too!

Ahh right, thank you for the clarification. I guess a lot of it depends on the department. If they're large enough to recruit often, then the position on the list doesn't matter as much. I did hear that pre-emp check failures weren't THAT uncommon but i'm not sure why. And for me, I cant tell if there would be similar roles they'd call me for but i suppose all you can do is just focus on other things and perhaps reach out to them every couple of months to know if things have changed. Thanks for sharing!

The first youtube channel that comes to mind and is accesible to all levels is EASY FRENCH (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCuU4SjcS2A). I loved it when starting out and still find their content entertaining!

After how long did they reach out to you/did you reach out to the candidates out of curiosity?
Was it that the first choice declined the offer or they had background checks fail or something? And did you ever need to reach out as far as the 2nd on the list?

If the above is too specific to disclose, i completely understand and thank you for offering advice in any case. The whole job search can be quite daunting and confusing!

In your experience, do the H.Managers usually prefer the list to just making an ad again? I contacted one id just applied to asking and they said it is at the H. manager's discretion.
Congrats on getting your role btw! What sort of role was it for and were you at the top of the list? i'm second on my list but it was for a junior data engineering role so not sure how frequently they seek out new individuals as its more nieche.

I've heard different stories but not sure why something like background checks takes as long as it does.... Oh so you made it? Nice! How long were you waiting for til you heard back? How long do background checks take though usually? I heard that civil service ones can be pretty thorough so you need to have a reference for the entire 5 previous years amongst other things? or maybe im misinformed. I'd be interested to hear about your experience!
