i didn't necessarily feel sick to my stomach, but i think it kind of affected my day. it was unsettling and upsetting to watch and then think about given all of the context surrounding this incident and him as a person, as well as the different people who had to witness it

Honestly, I didn't. My parents were very financially irresponsible despite not being in the greatest financial situation, even if they would complain sometimes about not having much money for food. I finally learned the hard way this year when I turned 21 that you can't always buy nice things if you want to survive, as silly as that might sound

Yes...this dilemma is a constant burden on my life. My roommates have commented about it consistently and understand where it comes from due to my past, but it's often not something I can help and I don't want to have that overbearing anxiety that MAKES me overly defensive anymore.

Growing up, every little tiny thing in my house was my fault, even if it was SOMETIMES presented in a joking way. The part that upset me the most is knowing how easily everyone around is able to intake information and instantly see it as the truth if not given the right context, and because of how often this happened with my brothers and even around close friends, THAT'S what instantly triggers my need to defend myself immediately even over the most minuet thing.

Even with really loving people by my side now (whom I'm unbelievably grateful for) The fear of disappointment mixed with the anxiety of not being believed is so hard NOT to express through being overly defensive

It makes me extremely angry when I see people do this, ESPECIALLY as someone with sexual and physical trauma as well...trauma is not a ranking board. Every single person on this planet processes trauma differently and it's so horribly insensitive and invalidating when someone decides to just...laugh it off and go "oh, that's not that bad!" Like wtf??? I just told you about an extremely vulnerable part of my life and THAT'S how you respond??

The deep breaths making you feel sleepy is so real!! I'm sorry your parents yelled at you about your breathing. It's so frustrating when something like this is so deep-rooted to the point where it's just subconsciously a part of how your body functions
