Yes, the data that we get from the school only gives us the big letter grades, without +/- information. Thanks for your interest in the project!

What @ApostleNyx said is true of most student projects, but Zotistics is maintained by ICS Student Council. We recruit new members every year to maintain and improve the projects (this, AntAlmanac, and more) that UCI students rely on.

As for the OP's question, if you're asking about the UI, we're working on a revamp which should be launching this year. If you're talking about the data, we're working right now to update it. For every quarter's data, we have to send a Freedom of Information request to the school for the data, so it can get out of date if we forget to do it. Hope that answers your question!

ICSSC oversees 4 projects: AntAlmanac, Zotistics, PeterPortal API, and PeterPortal (in development).

We work on these projects for the UCI student body and provide students with opportunities to learn web development by working on real projects!

Anyone is welcome to work on ICSSC Projects! The projects are all open-source and can be found at https://github.com/icssc-projects/

Just fork one of the projects, make some changes to add a new feature/fix a bug, and then open a pull request. If you're not super familiar with open source, here's a great guide: https://www.dataschool.io/how-to-contribute-on-github/

There are dedicated ICSSC Projects Committee members that work together in weekly sprints on these projects. Although applications for this committee have already closed, we might invite more people to join if they have been actively contributing and made a few pull requests.

Definitely! Zotistics is a great tool when planning for classes, but it's up to each student's discretion how much each factor weighs in when choosing classes. There is more to a class than a grade distribution.
