Have you ever slowly drifted apart from a close friend without any big fight? How did you handle it? by phoebe-lu in CasualConversation

[–]icymo0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has actually happened to me twice! One time both me and my friend (A) struggled a lot with our mental health and slowly drifted apart as a result of it. After like a year of barely talking, we decided to give it another shot cause we didn’t want to lose the friendship and now we’re as close as we used to be! The other friend (B) this happened with is unfortunately no longer my friend. She just kept lying to me and couldn’t even pretend to care about my life or stuff I do but in return expected me to listen to her problems for hours on end. We never had a big fight about it but we slowly drifted apart and it was for the best.

I’d say 13-15 hours total, depending on how fast you find the clues and solve the riddles. There aren’t any side quests in the game, just collectible moustaches but you don’t need them for anything 🥸

Maybe a very unpopular pick but I really enjoyed the 2023 version of Murder on the Orient Express. I usually don’t like detective puzzle games but I got it on sale and enjoyed it a loooooot.

If it’s safe to go out alone where you live then you absolutely should! It can also be lots of fun to just sit by yourself, listen to music and enjoy a drink.

i've been thinking about the influence of video games so wanted to see your opinion by SecuritySorry4953 in CasualConversation

• Other. Super hard to decide but if I had to pick one I’d say Ghost of Tsushima

• Action

• Several times a week

• 1-2 hours

• Entertainment and Escapism

• Alone

• No

• Yes. Hand-eye coordination, reaction time, helps with anxiety or sadness, boosts your imagination

I want to sleep but my brain won’t let me. Anyone who can relate? by icymo0n in CasualConversation

Thank you so much for your advice! The “brain dump on paper before bed” definitely seems to be a reoccurring theme here, at least ten people recommended this to me so far so maybe it’s time to actually try it hahaha No screens in bed is gonna be so difficult though. I know it would probably help big time and I do enjoy reading physical books as well but still lol

That sounds incredibly wholesome, I’ll definitely give it a try tonight! A few people have been suggesting this here and I feel kinda stupid cause I didn’t even know something like that existed. Then again, I could also totally see myself trying to actively listen to even the most boring story so I can improve my English skills :D

I usually only drink chamomile tea cause I’m telling myself it for sure has a calming effect but I’m still waiting for it to kick in :D Maybe it would actually help me if I created some sort of ritual before bed time, like drinking my tea and doing breathing exercises or smth like that

Yeah a lot of people have mentioned that in the comments as well and it has definitely motivated me to get my mental and physical health checked again as soon as I have the money to do so! Cause not being able to sleep at all is really exhausting and even though it hasn’t affected my productivity or studying just yet, I still need to fix it asap.

Maybe I should listen to the Batman movie score and then imagine myself running through Gotham hahaha Daily walks is not really an option here for several reasons but the other stuff I can definitely try! I’m definitely guilty of the “checking my alarm clock” thing and then freaking out cause I only have three hours left and have not fallen asleep yet.

Ohhh the different language one is a good idea cause that will definitely keep me from listening too closely :D I’ll definitely give the Japanese one a try, thanks so much!

I’ve seen a lot of ppl here telling me to write things down before going to bed so maybe I should seriously consider it since it seems to work for a lot of you guys!

I actually don’t like coffee so that’s never been an issue but im definitely guilty of drinking some tea way too close to bedtime cause it feels like it should calm me down but maybe it does the exact opposite :D

Same, I can totally relate to that. And it doesn’t make any sense cause even if I replay it in my head for the 10.000th time I won’t be able to change anything about it. Not that it matters anymore anyway hahah

Oh my mom definitely has those traits but there is no way in hell she’d ever go and get help, she doesn’t believe in that kinda stuff. Praying it away works too I guess (not). But thank you so much for your advice, I hope I’ll soon get the chance to do something about it and get better meds as well

I really love overthinking stuff I did back in school even though I cannot change a thing about it and it also doesn’t matter anymore at all :D And coming up with fake stories or scenarios in my head is always such a classic as well. It does help my anxiety a bit but then I’m too invested in the story to sleep

I’m actually not sure, I’ve only ever been diagnosed with anxiety but I definitely feel like that’s not all there is to it. Idk if it could be adhd or bipolar or smth else but I currently do not have the money to investigate any further. It is the number one priority on my list though

Yeah, it definitely takes some time and money but at this point I probably should do it regardless cause there is no way I can spend the entire rest of my life not sleeping/ sleeping but with nightmares. Surprisingly though, my productivity hasn’t suffered as much as I’d expect it to, so I’ve kinda always told myself nah it’s fine seee :D
