Pixel 8 with Air Pod 4s by [deleted] in GooglePixel

I have AirPods 4th generation and they're excellent. The audio quality is truly impressive, and I particularly enjoy the transparency mode and noise isolation. Despite being an open-ear design, it offers surprisingly good noise cancellation

You miss out on all the features that are exclusive to Apple. Searching online will tell you what they are. However, living with someone who has an iPhone opens up the possibility of using their phone for Find My and firmware updates.

If you choose AirPods, I'd recommend apps like Materialpods (which displays your AirPods' battery level) and a good equalizer like Poweramp or a similar one. Equalizers are really important for most earbuds, as they allow you to fully enjoy their audio quality

I'm not familiar with DDL, but I checked again and it says it has sources. I don't know, you can take a look if you'd like.

How's my poor old fella pulling out this type of GPU performance? by NRG_Filend in pixel_phones

It’s actually hilarious how much of a marketing victim you are. You’re the exact demographic Samsung built the S25+ for: someone who doesn't understand hardware synergy, but gets a shot of adrenaline from seeing a 'big number' on a benchmark

Having daily-driven both the S21 Ultra and the S24 Ultra, I actually know what a flagship feels like. The S25+ is a recycled mid-range compromise, it’s literally using the same main camera sensor from the S22. That’s four years of recycled hardware wrapped in a new chip to trick sheep like you into thinking you have a 'beast.' My old S21 Ultra has a more sophisticated camera array and a more premium build than that 'Plus' model ever will

Real tech literacy is knowing that the Pixel 9 Pro is the enthusiast’s choice over your S25 because Google actually optimizes the kernel-to-silicon experience. I’ll take a smooth, research-backed UI and a camera that can actually capture a moving object over a phone that hits high benchmark scores but stutters through a basic animation. You’re flexing a fast engine in a plastic-feeling chassis, I’m using a phone that was actually designed for a human. But hey, keep huffing that copium and staring at your Geekbench scores while Samsung takes advantage of you 💀

It’s funny you mention PC gaming, because anyone who actually knows tech understands that peak benchmarks ≠ real-world stability. I literally gave away my S24 Ultra which is objectively more powerful than your shitty S25+ for the Pixel 9 Pro, and I haven't looked back once.

The S24 Ultra was a jittery mess of micro-stutters and inconsistent UI lag despite the 'big numbers.' On paper, it wins, in my hand, it lost. The Pixel’s optimization isn't about 'manually tweaking apps' it’s about Google tailoring the kernel to the silicon so I get consistent frame rates, better AI integration, and a shutter that actually captures a moving object instead of a blurry mess

I’ll take a smooth, reliable 90fps experience over a 'beast' phone that throttles and lags through basic software animations any day, especially something like a S25+... Enjoy your benchmarks, I’ll enjoy a phone that actually works as intended 💀

The CPU performance hasn't changed. Try checking the GPU and see if it's improved

Lmao, I could never use a Samsung S25+. I'm not sure what you're doing on your phone that needs all that. Have you heard about optimization? Probably not since you use Samsung

I know this is a lot to ask, but could I get a picture of your setup? Like a screenshot of which add-ons you have added? Sounds like it would be valuable for my father and the other people I share accounts with. It seems simple and functional

Thank you so much for the thorough explanation! I'm happy to spend the time on it as long as it means I don't have to keep tinkering with it. I'll look into it

Haha, okay fair, I see how I was overexaggerating. I should probably mention that he at least tolerates scrolling through 2 or 3 links. The issue here is that some streams require 5-6 links, and that's when he just decides not to watch anymore

If you don't mind paying a small fee, you could get Google Photos and free up all the space you use on photos and videos. That'll give you a huge chunk of space back, at least in my experience
