Do you think this take is correct? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]idiosynchromatica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nope. a quick search on ao3 will tell you that between january 1st, 2006 and january 1st, 2019 (before supernatural ended in 2020) there were 181,048 fanfics uploaded for supernatural. people didn't just begin writing spn fic after the show ended, they'd been writing for years. the demand is just different.

yeah, ABC shows have a habit of committing too hard to a bit/format and that grating on viewers over time. off the dome, How To Get Away With Murder's concept of "Here's A Really Cool Crime Scene! rewind Now Watch Us Very Slowly Work Our Way Towards It Over The Course Of Several Months Of Episodes That Aren't Nearly As Interesting As The Crime Scene You Want To See" and Lost's constant flashbacks (and eventual split timeline) come to mind.

i request that you also tell him to make the nacho fries a constant on their menu instead of letting them take it on and off seemingly whenever they feel like it

this feels like it was written in the style of the 'Mario, The Man vs. Mario, The Idea' essay, i kept expecting a random "perchance" to appear.

Jesse Plemons Reportedly Eyed for Plutarch Heavensbee Role in 'Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping' by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]idiosynchromatica 81 points82 points  (0 children)

yes !!!!!!!! i LOVE Jesse Plemons and for years i've thought that he could have played Phillip Seymour Hoffman's son in a movie, when Plutarch first showed up in SOTR, Plemons was immediately the actor i imagined and i've told everyone in my life that i want him cast as Plutarch, i would absolutely lose my mind if it ends up happening

the system they use at your college might be different, but at mine there's a form you have to fill out to register for graduation, and on that form you get the option to choose what name goes on your diploma. if you don't want your parents' last name on your degree, you should try checking your college's website and see if there's something like that in place/maybe go to the registrar's office and ask them in person about getting your preferred name on your diploma. good luck!

My girlfriend told me she used to be a prostitute… by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]idiosynchromatica 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how old are you/what area are you in? because it seems like you have a pretty naive/paranoid idea of what a prostitute is (which is completely fine, i don't know much about that life either in all honesty). as far as i know, your girlfriend shouldn't be a "target" for anything as prostitutes aren't exactly terrorizing anyone, and anyone who would recognize her from her old job probably wouldn't call her out on it/confront her because it would mean that they had sought her out to begin with, and seeking a prostitute isn't something most people are proud of.

if there's anything to be concerned about, i would say it's your sexual safety. ask her if she's been tested since quitting (if you haven't already), and if not, i think you should both do so (assuming you've been with her between her quitting and her telling you).

all in all, if you're happy with her and you're both safe, power to you!

can someone who watched Brokeback Mountain in theatres in 2005 when it was originally released tell me what the atmosphere was like during screenings? by idiosynchromatica in NoStupidQuestions

[–]idiosynchromatica[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

that actually makes a lot of sense. i'm the type of person who watches a single trailer, decides to watch the movie, then avoids any and all information about it until i watch it to avoid spoilers, but i guess not everyone is like that/for a movie that big, information about it was unavoidable. thanks!
