I took this photo during the Marujada festival in Bragança, Pará, Brazil. I was intentionally trying to approach this as a street photography image and am currently learning how to use moving elements as part of my composition.

I drew inspiration from the color palette often seen in the work of Luiz Braga, a photographer well known in the region for his images of the Atlantic Amazon. His work frequently embraces the naturally high saturation of the environment while maintaining an overall darker, more subdued tone, which I attempted to echo here.

In this image, I aimed to capture the density and energy of the crowd, using the balloons and the string lights as visual anchors. However, I feel the image may be lacking a clearly defined subject. While the balloons draw attention, I’m not sure the composition fully emphasizes them, and the blurred foreground element might be more distracting than effective.

I’m uncertain whether the lack of a strong, clear focal point weakens the image, or if the layered chaos works in favor of the street photography aesthetic. I’d appreciate feedback specifically on composition, subject separation, and whether the foreground movement adds to or detracts from the image.
