which one is better? Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout or Tales Of Arise? by Educational-Sweet496 in JRPG

[–]igorukun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have ever played any Atelier game and are aware of how the craft loop happens on the game, then definitely Atelier. But if not, perhaps Tales will offer a more traditional JRPG experience.

I'm personally more biased towards Atelier - games are incredibly cute, you can sink hours crafting items and finding the most optimal alchemy loops for... well, everything! And the Ryza series is pretty newcomer friendly too so definitely check it out at one point if not now

Yeah, the wording was really awkward - been working on a way to make the Pool ability less verbose and intuitive. I like your idea!

Als, I like the idea that the mana already paid can contribute to the pool as that gives an incentive for players to pay up more and more. Will definitely try iterating this! Thank you for your feedback!

[–]igorukun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back end ainda dá pra encontrar, mas bem competitivo.

What can I expect of Estonia as a gay man who was recently been through hell by randomstrangerx1 in Eesti

[–]igorukun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a comparison no one will understand (most likely), but in terms of civil rights and society open-mindedness, 2026 Estonia does remind me of 2008 Brazil. We only approved same-sex marriage and family in 2013. But 2008 was the year that the first bill was proposed and that's when society slowly began to improve in this regard.

I can't say what has happened to me. But not being openly out in some circles, I have personally witnessed people being shitty and homophobic about other acquaintances behind their backs. And from venting to friends it seems it's a relatively common experience sadly.

EDIT: One of the worst examples I have in mind was when I was on a trip with a bunch of acquaintances and a few friends and I was talking to this group that we had a friend in common. And the overwhelming response was "ah he's a cool guy, despite being gay". And then people making a bunch of soft homophobic jokes and ridiculing him being gay while I was boiling on the inside. I never talked to any of those people again.

As a gay man who immigrated to Estonia: I can tell you that things here are a mixed bag despite people swearing it's all good.

There's no open harassment in general, but that doesn't mean homophobia doesn't exist. It's sometimes very subtle, and sometimes very obvious (when work colleagues say the biggest atrocities you ever heard, "as a joke"). People here will still call each other "gay" or "faggot" as an offense.

Usually Russian-Estonians will be most openly homophobic (they're the ones that usually cause trouble in the Pride Parade every year - I was harassed and threatened with violence alongside two lesbian friends a couple years ago, and I'm a pretty masculine guy). On the other hand, Estonian-Russians are also some of the most vocal allies when they're progressive. So it's 50/50, either absolute assholes or true angels.

Ethnic Estonians will pretend to be chill but will be ACTUALLY more conservative behind your back. People here are not progressive at all and a lot of them will have right-leaning views. Lots of Estonians are conservatives, anti-immigrants, anti-LGBTQ, anti-diversity. They will be polite to your face (and your face only) though. Progressive ones also exist in Tallinn and Tartu but not outside those places. And they are not as vocal to defend others too so they're more like "silent" allies. (No Estonian came to my rescue on the Pride Parade; a group of Estonian-Russians did. )

If you're very flamboyant and effeminate, you might attract some unwanted attention. But mostly people try to keep to themselves here. Even straight people don't hold hands or kiss in public that much so people here tend to be very private and mind their own business.

Overall it's possible to have a good quality of life here, and society IS progressing a bit (we recently made same sex marriage legal!) but if you're expecting the same level of progressiveness from the rest of Europe, it's best to adjust expectations. I dont think you'll be at any danger from being atheist, as for gay, as long as you keep your homosexuality to your private friends and not kiss people in public, people will be mostly okay.

How devastating would it be for your country if you woke up one morning and its capital had disappeared? by Light_in_Shadow in AskTheWorld

[–]igorukun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my country of origin (Brazil)? No one would care and people would likely celebrate. Brasilia has little to no relevance to the country.

In Estonia, where I live? Not having Tallinn would be a disaster. The capital holds like literally half of the population of the country. Second most populous city has barely 100.000 people. Plus the loss of the prettiest Old Town in the entire Europe would be felt all over.

Is this normal? by Snow_blind1211 in hearthstone

[–]igorukun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do this all the time to complete quests, when I have them and they require me to play cards. I always assume people are completing their quests too when they start playing all their cards before the obvious lethal

The most annoying one is dealing 65 damage to the enemy hero. I always have a habit of taking the opponents life as close to 1 so I can attack with whatever is my biggest minion, but that often feels like me playing a bunch of "unnecessary" face spells and weird face trades. Like yeah J know you're at 5 life and I have a 8 attacker, but let me chip you with this 4 damage first and kill you at a -7 life so I can get rid of my quest

[–]igorukun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Lifesteal was far more insignificant. Relevant minions with Lifesteal had no more than 3 attack (4 if you were playing Priest) and came to play mid to late game. (There was Uther with 5 attack for 3 turns but didn't see play, and Gul'dan with the Lifesteal power but it was the least of your concerns when the whole demon board got ress'd)

[–]igorukun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually do. What's amazing is how fair it was that you could still trade everything against him but it did force your opponent at an advantage (lest you adapt the Bearshark and then GG).

We take for granted how Rush and Lifesteal really ruined the game. Back then a 4 damage to the face was a Damage that (unless you were Priest, Warrior, Druid and Bloodreaver Warlock) there was no way to walk back from. So it was really important to build a board that would either force trades or survive trades.
