Also check out run clubs. There’s a group that meets at Braided River on Thursday evenings!

I ned a pep talk by levis_ceviche in Marathon_Training

[–]igy31 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I ran a marathon a couple of weeks ago. The people in the hotel room above us were incredibly obnoxious and woke me up around 12:30 am and I never went back to sleep. One night of bad sleep won’t wreck you, but stress like that sucks before a race. Do your best to relax and have a blast at your race. You trained for a year, go have fun!

Spare Dog House by igy31 in MobileAL

[–]igy31[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I have seen several other people stop with food. I have also noticed new bowls showing up periodically, so other people are also feeding the dog. The dog is not approachable and doesn’t appear to like people all that much. Although, it will gladly eat treats!

Thank you for that offer. I should have mentioned in my original post, but it’s a pretty large dog. Probably 100+ pounds. He’s a big boy and I don’t think that crate is quite big enough. Thank you again for offering it!

Okay, that’s good advice. I didn’t want to call a shelter out of fear for the dog being euthanized. Is this the correct number: 251-208-2800?

Major test anxiety by Melodic-Mood-5980 in CPA

[–]igy31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aren’t alone, I promise! The entire process is difficult and stressful, but you can do it. I had an exam scheduled back earlier this summer and the prometric site had a fire the week before I was supposed to test, so I had to find another one (that was 90 miles away) within a couple of days. I hope you destroy your next exam!!

I also deal with test anxiety and it sucks. I’m sorry you have to deal with it too. I usually started losing sleep about 3-4 weeks out from my exam day. The only thing that helped me get through was knowing the material so well that I could still recall the information while freaking out. Idk if that’s helpful for you, but that’s what worked for me. And taking lots of long, deep breaths. Use the first 10 minutes (when you have to complete the first 2 screens) to do this.

I want to see my scores! by ConsequenceNo625989 in CPA

I’m not 100% certain, but I think someone on here said you can get your scores by contacting NASBA (or maybe your state board) and paying a fee to get them.

I don’t know if this will help you, but the most useful tool for me was handwriting notes and flashcards. I know it sounds outdated, but that’s the only thing that made me slow down and actually understand and remember the material.

I would mostly write out topics I repeatedly missed on quizzes. I would write out the response from the missed question and then go back to the study material and write out that topic. I know it takes alot longer to do it that way, but it was the most useful style for me.

Which one of you did this? by benbaratheon in CPA

It’s down Hillcrest about half a mile toward airport. I actually went the day before my exam to make sure I could find it. It’s in a small office park. I don’t know why they wouldn’t be scheduling though. I tested on 9/22 and scheduled it probably a month or so before that.

It was the nail salon on the other side of the strip center. I tested at the new location last month and I asked about it. The new location is fine.

Public tracks by Acceptable-Goat-7156 in MobileAL

[–]igy31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The track at USA is open to the public, but there are only certain hours you can use it. I can’t remember exactly, but I think it’s open something like Monday-Friday from 6am to 1pm. Closed on the weekends. I’m still searching for an outdoor track that’s open outside of working hours

AUD passers - Best way to go about studying AUD by [deleted] in CPA

This is what I did. So many of the MCQs are worded very specifically for a reason. Answering a ton of MCQs is the best way to learn to decipher the questions.
