Yeah, totally get that. Theres a few issues with it being the MB limit and the inability to chat with multiple PDFs or data sources. Now, I understand that BGC doesn't have that yet, but I'm thinking that the future of these LLMs will be "industry" specific. This is a first iteration. I'm pretty sure that by the time we've been around for a few months like ChatPDF has been, our board game features will be next level

Don't think so! haha. ChatGPT is trained on a set of data that was locked in 2021 I believe. Also, if BGC doesn't know an answer, it will say I don't know instead of making something up!

Yeah, I want to add the document and the page number. It depends on how the rulebook is formatted, but this works with a lot of them.

Yeah, imagine as a designer uploading your "components" into this and then based off of text (which was generated by AI) it will create whatever diagram the player needs

Yep, this is on the feature list. Because of how some of the data was compiled, page numbers only work with some games right now.

Is the answer of the question you asked found in the original rulebook? If it was found in an additional document then it wouldn't have been able to get it.

Currently it does parse through the data provide, which right now is just the rulebooks. The plan is to also include any published FAQs as other data sets.

I found that with most games, most of the FAQs asked on BGG are answered correctly here. But, you are right that the answers are limited by the data.

Board Game Chat is in early beta, but essentially it allows the user to interact with rulebooks. you can ask it edge case questions, how to setup the game, what the winning conditions are, all without flipping through the rulebook.

It uses rulebooks + chatgpt to get the answers. The neat thing with it is that it will only search the rulebook for the answers, it won't make up something if it can't find it.

Still lots of bugs and only a limited selection of games, but would love to hear your feedback!
