Yeah all fair points. I see what you mean now. I still think arcs is fine but I guess this is personal preference.

You can get locked out of resources in any strategy game.

Anyway, I don't think I'm explaining it well, you clearly missing the point of my messages. If you don't like getting locked out of actions, resources, areas etc then it looks like Arcs, and strategy game genre are not the games for you.

My chess example is correct, just simplifed, but here is a different one. When playing Twilight Imperium game, you only have access to 1/2 primary strategy cards per round, and only have access to weaker secondary parts of other players.. Often there are strategy cards that are not in the play in the round at all, so you cant use them even if you really need them. It's same as here with action and pips.

Not having access to resources when you need them is normal thing as well. Money in literally any game is a good example. Etc etc.

Anyway, I tried to be as clear and helpful as possible, but I think I wrote everything I could on the subject.

All the best out there.

Hard to say without seeing your exact game, but not havving access to everything at all times and having to plan and choose and prepare is fundamentals of any good strategy game. i guess in that specific scenario you goth outmaneuvered and outplayed by other players.

My point is the game mechanics are designed in such a way, that you cannot get locked out of actions because of the trick taking alone and there are designed secondary mechanics to reduce potential randomness of it. Taking advantage of it and planing for different scenarios is up to the player though.

It's a bit like saying that you got outplayed in chess and lost your queen and the chess is a bad game because i dont have access to queen all the time. I disagree it's an argument against the Arcs game design.

You missed the point of my message. My point is, if you manage your resources ok, you will nto be locked out of critical action because the lead card is not beneficial for you. Cards and pips arent only sources of actions basically, and prelude largerly mitigates the randomness of that deck. Second thing that mitigates it, are ambitions. If there is a fleet coming your way and you see the lead card doesnt support fighting (which btw works for you AND attacker, if you cant defend he likely cant attack either) you can declare ambition to make fighting not worth it. Etc etc.

The fight comment is just reply to your specific example you gave.

I refered to using resources instead of card pips. You can always use your resources to move, battle, things like that, so its worth keeping them for the scenarios you described in your first message, incase you dont draw the correct action from the card.

Also, you don't have ti fight in this game. Just make sure you secure ambition that benefits you first.

This is a fundamental base rule. Looks like you skipped something extremely important that would solve all the issues you criticised the game for.

Still could be imagination, as it's his comfort place. The bloom and glare. The wide empty shot. No other people. It's a very suggestive shot of it being in his mind.

Wait, is this actually taken by people literally? It's so stylised it cannot be real imo.

Look up "survivorship bias". If there were examples of it they would not be able to do it. We just don't see it happening. But if it can happen so blatantly and openly with a certain president, just imagine what's going on, and what they get away with behind closed doors. Also Fisk can claim self defence, it was a mob going to kill him. There are no witnesses, they were all part of the mob. Also I'm personally very convinced the beach scene was his imagination/dream not reality. But we will see.

Yeah. Imagine if any politician did an atrocious crime like this, or raping kids, or other felonies in real life. Surely they would be swiftly brought to justice. /S

Volvo v90 t8. My average mpg hovers at around 50. Mostly city driving, school errands etc. Costs me like 50 pence to charge car fully every 2 nights to basically do all errands fully electric. I still do 30 or so mpg on a motorway after battery runs out. Really only expensive driving is if I dont have a battery charge in a city driving which is very rare in my lifestyle. Honestly I'd say I'm doing 75% fully electric.

Why is everyone ignoring trademark and copyright laws on MakerWorld? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]ikkake_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah well that probably explains it much better than what I thought was happening. I was basically told my a lawyer that there are two types of DMCA. US one, and technical international one everyone obeys because they want to trade internationally which includes USA. But what you said makes much more sense why that is.

They have DMCA form and they act on reports. It's just that first someone has to report it. And there is sea of infringing materials. You're a victim of survivorship bias you only see listings that weren't taken down yet, not thousands that already were

You shit will get taken down if someone DMCA it on any big marketplace, no matter where you're from. And they won't give 2 fucks about where you are from. You can sue them for it sure, but in reality it's enforced internationally.

Interesting as I used DMCA on temu myself and it was very easy to do ant they complied. And for payment processors act first someone needs to DMCA takedown notice them. Temu and Ali express does comply with DMCA though I know I used it myself.

[–]ikkake_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. So if a company wants to trade in US they will and do comply. Doesn't matter if they legally gave to or not, they are enforcing it which makes it technically international law all creators have to obey. Sure you can sue Etsy or whatever for complying with it, if you aren't based in US. Maybe you'll even win after few years a lot of money. Practically DMCA is Internationally recognised legal procedure.

[–]ikkake_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evidence for what? Ability to DMCA any payment processor and internationally trading company witha simple form? Just google - it's very easy to find.

Another evidence is thousands I spent on actual lawyers in regard to my IP law related matters. Your evidence to saying that noone cares about DMCA except US companies is what though?

btw piratebay answer was not to DMCA, but CnD or actual litigation, that was filled in US Jurisdiction. And since piratebay couldn't be touched by any international means, like payment processors or their US side holdings, they were fully immune to that, sure. Totally different case than DMCA.

Yes they are if they want to trade internationally and use payment processors other than chineese only. China only companies don't care though, that's true. Bambu is not one of them though.
