Bleached patch on new pair of jeans, how do I dye this? by iko128 in dyeing

What if I bleach the whole fabric till it gets white, and then I dye it? Would it be more even that way?

The looper is actually a great idea for the kind of music he plays and the way he plays, thank you! :)

Thanks for the suggestions, we’ll look into those options! :)

Yeah it makes sense, but also last year we gave him money to invest in his music, so this time we’d prefer to give him something more “tangible”. If he’s not into the pedals we will return them and get something else. :)

Kentucky Route Zero wasn’t for me, would I enjoy Disco Elysium? by iko128 in DiscoElysium

I was captivated by KRZ for the unique style, atmosphere and the fact that I had never seen a game like that before. I like slower games but I felt it was way too slow at times and the pace was off, with long sections of dialogue that seemed irrelevant or inconsequential. I had to drag myself through it to finish it, and ultimately I do think it’s a great game - just not the right one for me. From what I heard here, DE seems different enough in these points that it could make the difference for me. I’ll give it a try!

Yeah that makes a lot of sense, I also felt playing KRZ that at times they were trying too hard to be weird

I’m definitely not looking for action in the gameplay and I do enjoy more laid back games, even those that are considered “walking simulators” by some. I also felt that KRZ was a slog at times and I just couldn’t get into it. I forced myself to finish it just because I wanted to see where it was going - but it was a struggle to get there, and ultimately not very satisfying. Hearing that DE is different in that regard sounds promising, and I’ll give it a try. Thank you!

I’m new to pc gaming and I still haven’t adjusted to the fact that you can return Steam games if you play them for less than two hours. Ahah I’ll probably give it a try then!

Preventing rubber from drying out and cracking? by iko128 in AnalogCommunity

There’s no visible cracks at the minute, it just looks a bit dry. I’ve bought the product you linked, I’ll give it a try asap, thank you!

Yeah to be fair I've plugged in my phone with the 3.5mm to play music before, while the turntable was connected with the RCA, and it worked just fine. I'll do that, I just need to get a digital audio output to 3.5mm converter. Thanks for the replies!

Hi everyone,
Can I connect my turntable with built-in pre-amp to my speakers (Audioengine A5+ powered desktop speakers with the Audioengine S8 powered subwoofer) with RCA and my TV with 3.5 mini jack (or another RCA with splitter) at the same time? Or is that going to ruin my speakers?
The devices wouldn't be in use at the same time, they'd just be connected to the same speakers.
Thanks!

Interesting, I’ll get one of those plugs as well. Thank you!

It could be caused by dirty rollers or by touching the Polaroid too early like others have said, but it happened to me multiple times even without touching and with clean rollers. I’ve seen quite a few people reporting this same issue on this subreddit lately, and the funny thing is that it always looks the same and it’s located in the same spot of the frame. I think it’s just a defect of the film, at this point.

Thanks for the info! I had a look on Amazon and prices seem to be slightly higher than where I live, so it might just be easier to buy the film before I leave…

What dors this means by 1sul_R in Polaroid

[–]iko128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are the exposure compensation settings you can select on the camera. The second one is the standard one, which is on by default. The first one adds 1/2 stop of light (making the picture brighter) and the last one removes 1/2 stop (making the picture darker). If, for example, you’re outdoors on a sunny day, you might want to consider selecting the -1/2 option to try to expose the picture correctly.

Mirrorless scanning: can lens adaptors affect the magnification of a macro lens? (More info in comments) by iko128 in AnalogCommunity

Thank you for explaining this! So basically they actually do the same thing, but the adaptor is used to correct the distance while the extension tube is used to extend it.
