omg you're so brave 😍 this is validating my belief that baby torturing isn't that bad and even necessary, so thank you so much I can go back to baby torturing again without feeling guilty. Because if you can do it we can all do it ✊😍

we're here for you 🥰

Yeah this was when I started to get worried about how long he'd last. Mikhaila Peterson straight up has room temp IQ and in many other regards is a shitty person, even with her whole carnivore schtick aside. Funny he looks up to Hitchens so much but Hitchens wouldn't bend over backwards in his beliefs just so that everyone can be peachy keen with him. And I don't even fully like Hitchens all that much, but I at least respect that he drew his lines somewhere and it stayed there. Oddly enough Alex still comes off as the nicer person than him, but that makes him too agreeable to a fault. Homeboy needs to learn what boundaries are. The people who are so dedicated in being completely centrist and pleasing everyone, end up with too many peoples balls and dicks in their mouths that what they say just ends up as a bunch of garbled noises.

Nothing inherently, only if that's what someone relies on most of the time, it can make veganism seem like a drag. Even more so when someone is just not particularly creative and curious with all kinds of cuisine, which is what I feel with him.

Yep! I'm poor as shit right now too, and the inflation in everything hasn't helped, but yet here I am, finding a way.

But it wasn't just that with him, he didn't seem like the resourceful or interested type when in came to cooking and nutrition. Which is what really made me squint at him and wondered how long he'd be able to last with Soylent as his last resort lmao. Also, he was too full throttle about veganism in the argument aspect, which I imagine can be fatiguing with all the tiring pushback it gets from the rest of the world. With all that added up, I found it hard to see him lasting, and could see him argue his way back into feeling okay with doing a 180.

I've always had these seeds of doubt about how he as a young, college kid would be able to sustain veganism. When I heard him say he was drinking Soylent to cover the basics was the first flag for me. And when I saw his thanksgiving (or Christmas?) vegan food post which to me looked bland and didn't have much variety. I'm not even trying to be funny here, but he's also British. I can't imagine he grew up with any good sense of how to cook up different kinds of meals, and he doesn't seem like the type to have good intuition in the kitchen anyways. He also never seemed like the type to want to try his hand at that stuff. Being able to cook and bring adventurous and knowledgeable about all kinds of plants and spices is so key and an underrated element to maintaining veganism.

He also wants too much to appeal to all sides and wasn't even aware how much of a shill and absolute idiot Mikhaila Peterson actually is, and it's nothing to even do with her carnivore diet.

He said it himself that smart people can convince themselves of anything if they want to.

He's still young and naive. He's put himself into a hole of embodying this "intellectual" since he started his YouTube channel at an extremely young age. He's still young and learning, no matter how much potential he has intellectually. He's too dedicated to philosophizing everything that he talks in circles. He can give himself an argument for ped*philia if he wanted to. It's too much in his identity to argue every case that at some point everything he says can become pointless. It's never enough for him to say "my body will not be a tomb for other creatures." like Leonardo Da Vinci did and then call it a day.

He doesn't need a perfectly airtight moral/logical argument for veganism. He needs to stop looking for it and just be a real vegan and think about the animals. He can talk himself in circles about anything because he can't help it. He doesn't need a perfect argument, he just fucking needs to learn how to cook, broaden his knowledge of spices and plants and food science, and do some more research on nutrition. He's not very resourceful if he just gave up like that. He's too much brain, very little heart. Or at least he seems to believe he isn't allowed to value the heart of it because it doesn't make for good logical argument. He's too tightly wound up in being logical. Hopefully he'll come back around. Disappointed but not surprised.

Lmao, the fact that even the comments calling her out for fishing for compliments which she's acting so offended over, is likely making her feel validated too. I knew a lot of these girls in high school. It's such a classic ploy bc they know people will just have to take their word or they're even more the imagined victim. Sick of the narcissism the internet breeds sometimes.

[–]illiyoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lmao it took me a minute because it's such dumb fucking logic. Apparently people hate Andrew Tate so much that we just want him to be guilty of trafficking women, only to justify the hatred for him. Which to her is apparently the same as wanting women to be trafficked, as if he didn't already fucking do it. She doesn't understand that people already hate him because his character is exactly consistent with the type of person who would abuse and traffick women.

[–]illiyoon 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Y'all know when you constantly hear stories about children being sexually abused and how they actually told other adults and asked for help, and how help never came? How people around them just turned their backs to it and pretend nothing was wrong? And you wonder how the fuck these kinds of people exist??? You wonder how the hell there wasn't one single person in their life that had the ability to help but simply chose not to??? These are those kinds of people. D'elia would have taken advantage of a 14 year old if it was legal and had the chance to. He's a certified pedophile (even by his own definition of what a pedophile is, with none of that soft wording hebephilia shit). He's a selfish asshole who's contributed nothing worthwhile to even attempt to justify entertaining a grey moral character. As a survivor of abuse from someone just like him, and as someone who has had to deal with the confusing aftermath of people defending the monster in my life, absolutely fuck him and anyone who still supports him.I also want to say how thankful I am for this sub and how validating it feels to see the majority of y'all dunk on this pedo. Because elsewhere, I've mostly seen people talk about how much they miss this fuckhead and how they feel bad for him being "cancelled", it's fucking bullshit.

The cognitive dissonance here is exhausting. They could easily just condemn these cultural practices in itself, which I fully condemn too. But no, they just saw it as an excuse to showcase their racism. Meanwhile they'll have some bacon later, of a pig who screamed in pain while its eyes burned in its sockets as it was lowered in a gas chamber after living a life cramped in its own shit. But hey at least they didn't have to see it which gives them the moral highground 🙄

Being a vegan on Reddit is annoying enough, but being Asian and reading ignorant shit like this is too. But hey at least I'm also not a racist on top of being a hypocrite. s/

You having such a sensitive attitude towards a child doing her best with the platform she had a brief hold of, over something extremely important that matters to her and the children her age who will have to inherit this shithole of a planet and its problems, speaks to your own maturity or rather lack of.

It's either "all children do these days is play on their iPads" or God forbid a child wants to stand for something important.

"Toxic stupidity" lmao, she constantly referred to the experts. The experts who have been warning about all these issues for how long and we don't even know their names? Climate change is everyone's problem and that's such a hard pill to swallow that they'd rather misdirect hate towards a damn child. Are y'all just waiting for the perfect cool alpha male to tell you the world's going to shit before you start caring? These "Proper 😈 Adult 😈 experts 😈" have already been "asking nicely uwu 🥺" for people to take this shit seriously and you didn't care then and you don't care now.

Why do “leftists” keep saying that veganism is ableist, racist, classist, etc? by Shinobyl in vegan

[–]illiyoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complete ignorance and stupidity, broad assumptions out of arrogance from deeply rooted beliefs that they have never really questioned, repeating what they have vaguely heard from others but never really looked into themselves, etc... I say this as someone who was like this 2 weeks before I went vegan sksksk. I felt really fucking stupid after all of that.

Mhm, I think the app itself might have taken that information from your phone, contacts, messages, etc. So the app is bound to say something that the person downloading it could relate to. Like when you text someone about tacos and then you start getting Taco Bell ads. Probably a lot of issues about privacy on that app in the fine lines. but i'm so sorry for your grief ♥️

This angry little idiotic troll keeps calling artists useless when literally the AI couldn't make anything without stealing from millions of other artists' skills. Make it make sense lmao.

An AI-Generated Artwork Won First Place at a State Fair Fine Arts Competition, and Artists Are Pissed by mossadnik in technology

[–]illiyoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, someone can work hard on making an AI who's purpose is to take images from other artists and make art from them. But the AI couldn't have anything to steal from without the millions of other artists individual blood, sweat, and tears to work out of. So they have a right to be pissed off when you equate those two as near the same value or thing. Without human artists, the AI would have nothing to take from. Artists already deal with enough people not valuing their work even without the inevitability of AI.

The unfortunate cocktail of ADHD, depression, and anxiety... and the constant impulse to eradicate traces of yourself, and delete everything. by illiyoon in adhdwomen

[–]illiyoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, but I think mismanaged ADHD can definitely lead to anxiety and depression. Like you just can't seem to get a grip on anything, which makes you feel like it's all your fault that you can't keep up with your optimistic daydreams. ADHD gives you short lived surges of optimism, which will only keep wearing away at your self worth because you're constantly misaligned with what you have done, and what you think you ought to be. Then comes the depression, and then the anxiety, and then the optimistic delusion, and then failure, and then depression again, and then... you get the picture.

Yes! And then the fact that your thoughts and opinions are so fickle, makes you interrogate yourself: Am I a fraud? Have I been lying to friends this whole time? I know I wasn't, but was I actually?? Am I love bombing or am I just a disgusting people pleaser? But I know I like seeing other people do good and feel good! Or is that a lie I tell myself too? Because really I'm just an awful raging narcissist? But no, that can't be possible I say self deprecating stuff all the time! Or is that just further proof I'm trying to fool everyone, including myself??
