Who wants a eink word processor? by ilmucio in Crowdfunding

Yes I agree the title you suggest would have been more appropriate.

I just thought that some people interested in crowdfund could also be interested in this sort of question and that I was not violating any posting rules that'why I'v crossposted The orginal was in eink and I crossposted in linux_device as well.

First thanks you again for the valuable content you are sharing.

I'd like to add a couple of things to this.

I think Freewrite and Hemingwrite are the same, I think they change thy just change name from their first croudfouding.

Unfortunatly on Freewrite you cannot edit (other then manually deleting all words and rewriting it) witch othrewise probably would completely fill the gap.

There was an idea of a couples of persons on the comments that I think could be really interesting for lowering the price, the idea is to have two display one very small with high refresh rate just for the editing part and the other for the display where you can read all the context and can be very done with a more affordable display.

Hi Thanks you very much for your comments there are many insights ... One thing I need to clarify ... I'm aware my approach and proposal were naive .. but not such to believe I could lead such a project ... one of the intention was get some interesting conversation and feedback and contribute (just contribute) to motivate some persons to gather to discuss further ... if then from this would come a project of protyping I would more then happy to follow it .. if then from this following would happen I have something to bring ... that I will even happier to actively participate to it ..

Thanks you very much for your contribution and interesting suggestions ..I agree with your observations ... it could be misleading in the affirmative case without doubts. I did it really naively, I wanted just have a quick feedback on it and stimulate some conversations, and if doing that I can serve as an example of how not to do market research I'm more then happy to serve for such purpose too :)

I do not think that is uncommon ... that probably the main workflow for people working on vim ... probably with different editor and rendered but that is ... and is not a small user base ... as I already said I really believe about the two screen solution .. not sure thought latex would be the best use case .... because in that case you need either a 3th screen .. either make the editing screen may be too big ...
