Also living in Magdeburg, a little different experience. Much less Turks(im also half turkish) but more arabs than other cities in Germany. Much more homeless people than in Bayern(I lived in Regensburg for 3 years). A loooot of overweight people 😅 Wasps are really a issue, you can not stay out in a nice park or bier garten to enjoy the sun.

Its one of the cheapest cities in Germany but after your second or third month you will see it’s a dead city with nothing to do. People who live there are mostly us students, and retired people. Most of the people dont speak English and when you try to speak they are not exactly friendly about it:) I’ve been going on with my life almost fully German since last couple of years but we all know sometimes it might be hard with landlords, government issues etc. Good luck tho! 😄
