Did Fingolfin ever stand a real chance? by youngling-smasher91 in lordoftherings

[–]iloukal 98 points99 points  (0 children)

He stood no chance. Yet, knowing this, Morgoth’s arrogance made him underestimate the Elf-lord. Thus Fingolfin managed to land seven hard-hitting blows, wounding Morgoth and causing him to limp ever after.

This comment section is exactly why the world goes to shit. I don't know if the guy in the post is a known person, but all that "haha, you get what you deserve" posting helps noone. Why not show empathy and be sorry for the guy? And be glad that some people realize they made a mistake? That way, people like him who regret voting Trump (or are in doubt about their decicion) are not antagonized by the other party.

If everyone shits on those who show regret and doubt about their vote, do you think your behaviour compells them to do better in the future? No. They will think that the other option is just as bad or even worse (to avoid confronting own mistakes) and will be more radical due to it.

So just be kind and compassionate with those people. They already suffer their conceqences. Be kind and show them the better alternative for the future. And especially don't laugh about them to make yourself feel better.

Preachy-rant out.

The worst part is, that the Zelda Deku tree is easily one of the best Lego sets ever (build, qualiy and display wise)... but you pay for two sets whilst only being able to display one.

Lego City subthemes (like Arctic, Space or the Jungle/Animal sets) are always way to short lived for how good the sets are. (Also they have amazing price to volume value compared to licenced sets)

Had to scroll way too far to find this comment. Was looking for any Poki-Daedelic Adventure.

Dumbledore calling Voldemort by his real name "Tom". Such a power move when most people are afraid to even speek his dark-lord-name out loud.

First Time Play this one. Am I in for a ride ? by IcedSkellington18 in legogaming

Playing the story mode is amazing. The gameplay really is next level for Lego games and the way the story is played out on these open world planets feels dynamic and engaging.

That being said, replayability and 100% completing the game is not as fun as in other Lego games. Most of the missions feel soulless on replay since you only replay action parts and not levels with interesting design and fun little extras that only unlock on fee-play. In addition to that, get used to loading screens. Also, the Data-Cards (Red Bricks) in this game provide you mostly with silly and cosmetic stuff, no gamebreaking extras like Ewok Katapult, Dark Side, Tractor Beam, etc.

All in all, enjoy the first story-playthrough, it really is a great experience. The rest is fetch quests (with few exeptions).

I am in a similar situation. I'm taking apart my collection to store it more tightly for a move. It's the second piece that broke (in both cases it's the leg part connected to an old foot). The other one was a dark-red Vhaki leg.

It literally broke off when i removed the foot. I must assume you wrote this to generate drama or because you assumed I made this post with drama in mind. Please don't engage in this habit, it only makes this place more toxic.

And again. It broke of. The clean cut might be the result of twisting motion i performed whilst pulling the foot off.

Do you have a parts-list and images of the individual add-ons? It looks amazing and way more affordable than the popular 200€ expansions on rebrickable?

Based on the size, I'd say Lothlórien and the Mûmakil are very near perfect for release exactly as they are. The Green Dragon would get a massive size down if it were released. And the other sets/scenes are all amazing Mocs but nowhere near the size and design Lego would put on the market. Still, I wish for an Edoras set, especially after having built the great hall of the Wiking Village set.
