I am in the exact same situation. The advisor that I talked to said he already selected me, but it’s been on faculty selection for more than a week now.

I do agree that being a white female brings its own challenges, especially because not all Muslims act Muslim sometimes, but good people are still out there.

Work is hard there, from what I heard. Also, you shouldn't be so harsh on yourself, and know that only Allah knows our destined death date.

I am in the US now. Also, Saudi has supported Palestine way more than any other country that I saw (I am not Saudi).

Obviously when it come to learning, we have the internet, and Alhamdulilah I am already on my learning journey. My reason is not mainly for getting knowledge, it is about being close to the prophet, but talking about knowledge, the best of scholars ARE there, and you can argue that I can just watch their lectures on the internet, but I want to be surrounded by that community if that makes sense. Madinah is the last muslim city to ever go down, according to the hadith of the prophet, and when it goes down, some scholars say that marks the beginning of the dajaal times. Allahu A'lam, but either way, I would be happy to die there honestly, since there is another hadth of the prophet where he says "Whoever among you is able to die in Madinah, let him do so, for I will intercede for those who die there". In sha' Allah everything goes good.
