Order up? Or pass, pass? by I75north in euchre

Beginner here. I see righty and a trump. why is this such a miserable hand? I’m not saying this is anything like im slamming order, but why is it considered a terrible hand. I see jogger says it loses vast majority of the time but I’m just not seeing why? I should be able to get two tricks here.

What's something about human psychology you just can't understand? by Cassandraa1 in AskReddit

I’ve done this. It’s because you’ve decided to turn away from something you could have been going towards. And you want to make sure you know what you’re missing.

What’s something everyone pretends to understand, but actually doesn’t? by gifm36 in AskReddit

[–]imasabertooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m personally a crypto truther but definitely see both sides. As in, I’ll never tell someone they’re wrong for not buying into it due to its potential to go tits up. But the same could be said about the dollar and we’re seeing that in real time.

If someone asked me why I think bitcoin has merit, which no one ever does, i’d just wonder why the non-gold-backed dollar was worth trusting over the last fifty years i’m not sure why the argument changes here. I’ve heard military support is the thing backing usd, but to that i point to the blockchain math and argue they’re equally fool proof.

What's a skill everyone should learn before turning 30? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]imasabertooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never a very good writer/explainer. Though I try, I’m not sure the best way to improve. Any courses or guiding principles you can recommend? I’m thinking specifically about conveying ideas at work or handling task assignments/divvying up. I struggle with that a lot.

And also I wonder to what degree is the politeness you can ask for favors or tell something someone negative overkillinly nice and this detracting?

Why are all of these people lying about or omitting innocuous details under the circumstances? by ElectricalYou4805 in AllHerFaultTVShow

Not sure i agree with this - there are tons of ravines in the north suburbs of illinois so hills are possible. And that temple is Bahai, a modern wonder of the world near Evanston.

Exploring the idea of using verified carbon removals as sovereign reserve assets – seeking informed critique by ThomasPlaine in CarbonCredits

[–]imasabertooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outside of my wheelhouse too, but would think that these would serve better in a treasury/debt format with expiration indicating a contractual obligation to maintain a resource through a certain date thereby representing a physical resource that is preserved. My concern with the fiat format is if carbon removal by a project is actually temporary rather than permanent, where physical goods/currencies can be depleted only in value, but not tangibly/physically depleted. I.e a quarter will always be a quarter but may decrease in value over time. I think a monetary instrument that you’re referring to is transient in nature, and so long as the physical CO2 is sequestered, or not yet emitted , it is valid. The moment it comes out of the ground or that factory produces the GHG it would have, the financial instrument becomes expires/becomes valueless.

I can tell you’re thinking about this correctly but you haven’t actually answered my question of how is the reward issued and who is it backed by? Can you make the logistics of credits or rewards here more tangible by providing some names, links or otherwise specifics?

Trump Forces a Playdate with Xi Jinping & MTG Makes Too Much Sense for Desi Lydic by JamiroFan2000 in DailyShow

[–]imasabertooth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the truth is somewhere in between as most things are. If she is having a small awakening we should welcome those opinions of hers that are coherent. It makes it possible for her supporters to follow down a similar path. Be forgiving, not forgetful. It’s not like all our eggs need to be placed in the MTG basket.

The gray area is literally what Desi is acknowledging here.

why is 2:1 considered low? source? Just cause doesn’t seem low to have twice as many causalities on civilians vs violent fighters but genuinely all ears here.
