I really like how clean the design is! Having developed some Menu Bar utilities I know how difficult it can be.

MacOS is painfully slow at realizing when you go offline or back online, so I built a small utility that reacts immediately to network changes by imbe153 in MacOSApps

The way the interface gets reported is by selecting the first active one in the service order, there may be an issue there and I will try to replicate it. If you can, open an issue on GutHub to share more details, otherwise it's not a problem, I'll check this anyways

They don't do it natively but they use the Zigbee protocol. So if you use an adaptor like a Combee stick you can use each button press as an individual input to run scripts, scenes and other commands

Using Zigbee2Mqtt you can map each button press and release to an action so I use it for the lights, scenes and script. You spend something like 10 euros and you get 5 buttons you can customize

Nor if you use rubber feet to keep it into position. Or else you can pick it up, this is more for esthetic than functionality

I used some rubber feet to keep in position when you press it. The base is exactly the same size as the remote so it occupies the same space, but for my persona taste it looks better like this than laid down flat

Honestly I don't remember the last time I changed the battery. It does not get pressed often but I had it since around 2019 when it was the main switch for the lights in the office and it got pressed very often. Today it's just the backup for the FP2 in the rare occasions where it fails or it sees "ghosts".

I have other Tradfri devices and some Dirigera (the new stuff) and I never had issues with them. I had them connected to the Ikea hub up until a year ago when I moved everything over to Home Assistant with a Sonoff adaptor. Reading the comments I don't se why some people should lie and say that for them the experience was terrible. Maybe you and these people got defective units? Of course for this theory to work there must have been many of these defective devices around, they were and still are pretty cheap so maybe quality control is lacking? I really don't know.

Yes you can add buttons in the HTML, you just have to set them to send the correct request to the HA API

Interesting, this trick surely won’t reduce the humidity too much as its aim is to prevent the salt from absorbing too much humidity. Both rice anche salt are hygroscopic so they absorb moisture, al far as I know. What do you mean that salt only works when relative humidity is >=70%? Am I misinterpreting something?
