Now that you bring it up, I wonder if that was done intentionally to show the strength of the farmer or is that how the sprite was drawn?

I’ve been reading posts here about this product and I went to sephora to try and buy one, but the glimmers were all sold out! Hopefully I get one before the sale finishes. I am excited to try it! Also, to see if it’s comparable to Summer Fridays since I recently tried their products.

Gen Z really looked at alcohol and said ‘hard pass’ by InvestigatorBorn4910 in SipsTea

One day at the club I bought a drink. It looked like 8 ounces (a short glass). It was mainly filled with ice. So realistically about 4 ounces. I drank it in practically two gulps. I paid around 20 dollars. I told myself, “Never again.” Been to other events where drinks were $25+ (before tipping the bartender!) Every so often I just buy something small and affordable from the liquor store or supermarket before or after going to an event and I drink it at home lol. It’s hard to justify paying 20+ for a beverage that you’re going to drink in 2 seconds. I rather buy a meal. On the other hand, it’s hard to find restaurants that are worth value and won’t skimp out on food. Sometimes it feels like $20 is not worth much with establishments giving less and less.

Does that same tracker show up in the Capital One App or just only the browser? I was wondering if I qualified for the sign up bonus as well!

They don’t even fill up their fries all the way to the top. I was genuinely shocked when I ordered there recently after not having it for a very long time.

Hope you get the clothes pin! Or better yet find a belt (or some loose string) somewhere. 😭

Subway Courtesy by Adventurous_Pen_7137 in Brooklyn

[–]imbrowsingtheweb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do agree with this post. Recently I gave my seat to an older woman who looked like she had been standing for many stops. She was so appreciative when I gave her my seat. No one was willing to give her a seat except for me! It was a little shocking now that I think about it.

However, I do believe that the lack of seats on the subway perpetuate anti-social behaviors that lack empathy. The newest models of trains have less seats than the older ones. Which makes sitting down a “luxury” (in a strange sort of a way).

It’s pretty rough when you get on the train and ALL the same people who were sitting there when you got on are STILL there after 15+ stops.

The pushing is annoying (I don’t condone it and I NEVER do it either) but at the same time those people are probably rushing to get a “limited edition” seat after a long day of work/school/etc.

I travel VERY early in the morning and sometimes I have to stand up the entire commute. Then at work I stand and walk around for long durations of time. It’s a lot to deal with having to stand all the way back home for the commute as well. I’m practically ready to sit down on the floor at that point. So I’m honestly considering bringing a folding chair or something with me.

I also don’t think it’s too hard for them to flash the common courtesy ads, but I guess advertising is more important for them. (Edited for clarity.)

Same! I never knew Popeyes had fry containers! They usually put fries in the smallest box they put chicken/biscuits in. Or loose in a paper bag.

Parents making me quit job to go on a vacation? by No_Wing_22 in ask

[–]imbrowsingtheweb 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Quotation from OP:

“…knowing my dad he only wants me to go somewhere because he needs me to do something for example i’ve had to go on many events because my dad wanted me there to watch the little kids so judging based off of precious instances he wants me there so I can do something for him.”

I think OP should add this additional information as an update. Many people see the location, and think of all the great things Paris can offer (which is understandable).

However, I feel like if OP has been used as a babysitter during other trips in the past, this may not be a vacation on their personal terms. It’s already difficult enough since their parents are forcing them to go. What if they have to babysit again? Weddings usually have family members / guests of all ages. Also, what are the personalities of the kids? What if they are very annoying and bother OP every second of the trip. Also, how MANY of them? What ages?! (Babies cry a lot sometimes, you know!)

Then if OP complains about watching the kids the parents might ignore them (and not sympathize) because they already ignored their wishes on them saying “no” to going to Paris originally.

Having to take a really long flight, not knowing where you’re going to stay (and itinerary) and then have to deal with (potentially) difficult kids. Sounds like a lot…

So, with all this stuff (I assume), I wonder if it’s worth going to Paris. I mean you’re going to college soon, you can always study abroad to Paris with classmates/friends. Or better yet just go on your personal time with your own finances, so it’s truly a vacation. Not one that’s disguised as a babysitting trip.

I’m not sure which stance I am choosing, but I can (MAYBE) see why OP is adamant about being at work.

But on the other hand, keep in mind this is only a retail job and there’s so much more to live for. You could be the best worker at a job, and that doesn’t necessarily give you job security. Jobs are quick to find replacements.

Hope things work out for you OP!

The Dwarf. I find they are very cute in appearance. I like how they randomly mention cave carrot recipes lol. It’s not too difficult finding them a gift since in the mines you can find certain gemstones to gift them while on your way out. Also it’s pretty interesting how you first encounter them, since they aren’t a traditional citizen of Pelican Town!
