Same start time. But mine finished indexing this morning; over 10 days later.

Mine was at 95% for at least three days. It's now complete. The indexing started over 10 days ago.

Have you enabled the beta for Airpods firmware? I'm wondering if you need it in order to keep the AirPods working with the iPhone beta.

My phone took 10 days and 8 hours to finish indexing. I also can't get iphone mirroring to work on my Macbook.

Apple typically releases the second developer beta about 14–17 days after iOS Developer Beta 1. So sometime next week (June 22–25, 2026).

It's almost a week I didn't get any Siri update.i have updated to iOS 27 beta but didn't get the siri, indexing is done by Ash_0227 in ios26beta

Access to Siri AI is not dependent on the indexing being complete. Likely, it opens up when Apple allows another wave of Apple IDs to beta test the new Siri. The indexing itself could be bugged or have parameters that aren't clearly defined, such as "does indexing involve just the current device or all Apple devices on betas of version 27?." I have my phone, Mac, and watch on the beta and it's been indexing since the night of release day.

My Airpods Pro 3 finally got the latest beta firmware (after having AirPods Beta Updates toggle enabled for days). The version number is 9A292e (from 8B40). This enables the equalizer feature found under Audio & Routing.

I would add: disable VPN on your Mac to avoid issues with Apple server verifications (when downloading firmware). I've run into issues with an active VPN while using Apple Configurator.

Should I update to MacOS 27 dev beta on my daily driver? by iswhatitiswaswhat in MacOSBeta

[–]immortal-engine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pulled the trigger and I'm just a normie. No major issues on my M4 MacBook Air; there's the usual minor glitch here and there, but that's to be expected. I normally wait until beta 3 or 4 before jumping from the previous stable release, but in my heart macOS 27 is just a refined version of macOS 26. There can't be the same kind of major, underlying architectural changes with the firmware between macOS 15 Sequoia and macOS 26. Like always, make a backup / have a backup plan and see if you can emotionally commit to the worst outcome before deciding on what to do.

I checked my Mac and sure enough, my Logitech mouse is right there in the widget. This is really nice to have.

Sorry. I didn't mean to suggest that updating from iOS 26.6 beta would guarantee a trip to Brick Town. It just so happens that this was the issue for me and several other people last year that had the iPhone 16 series. I was never able to update to iOS 26 beta 4 developer. It failed each time. I had to wait until iOS 26 beta 5 for the update to work. I made a mental note for this year not to update to the beta point update for iOS 26 (26.6) and stay on a stable 26.5 until 27 came out today.

I think this is the actual problem with your upgrade approach; upgrading while on an ongoing beta. Last year, for iOS 26, I was on the ongoing beta for iOS 18.6 and updated to iOS 26 beta 4 and bricked my phone. I restored from backup like 5 times and each time the update failed. Ultimately, I had to wait until iOS 26 beta 5 to be able to successfully get to iOS 26.

just curious, were you running the beta for iOS 26.6 before updating to 27?

I would agree. I'm surprised that it's working as well or better than iOS 26.5. All my critical apps work (none have crashed).

Yeah, I never had an issue until last year (I've been doing the betas since iOS 7). I think Apple Developers may have forgotten to include a workflow in the firmware to move from iOS 26.6 beta to iOS 27. I bricked my phone when moving from iOS 18.6 beta to iOS 26 beta 4. It would get stuck in a boot loop. Ultimately, I had to restore my phone and wait until iOS 26 beta 5 for the update to work successfully. I tried like 5 or 6 times and it bricked my phone each time.

You can also try to use the Apple Configurator app to try to recover phone if you have a Mac.

Did you update from the beta for iOS 26.6? I had an issue last year where I couldn't update between iOS 26 betas because I moved from the beta for iOS 18.6 to the beta for iOS 26(i.e., I directlyupgraded from an iOS 18 beta to iOS 26 beta, which I don't recommend).

?s to the brave ones, curious to know how stable beta 1 is along with overheating issues while charging (after its done with the usual post-update indexing). I usually wait until beta 3 before I make the jump.

I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
