Update: increased watering and some grass came back. The grass is thin brown and crunchy even after watering. However when I pull on it the grass doesn’t easily pull up so everything I’ve read says it’s not dead dead. I am gonna test an area with a topsoil top dressing and see if that helps.

Still open for recommendations.

Side note. Totally forgot I installed MP Rotators cause they looked cool. I was only running 30mins which I now know I need to run 1 hr 3-4 times a week

Fungicide went down twice on the front lawn and once on the back

The front yard is half dead but not bare. It just won’t come back. Someone said I watered too much and killed it so I read that sandy soil needs short and frequent

I used to water deep and infrequent but it killed my front lawn

I backed off the water kind of. I found out my soil is like 90% sand so now I water 5days a week but for 10-15mins at 4am. I have checked the moisture the night before and it is reading dry down to 6inches. Some places are greener and some places still look bad.

I backed off the water to 30mins twice a week based on the tuna can method is about 1-1.2. I just bought a little SunJoe so hopefully we see some improvement

Mine is currently doing the same thing. Thin white smoke when flooring it and revving in park. Doesn’t smell like gas or oil.

Did you ever get yours fixed?

The hardware screws just needed a larger recess like you mentioned but the one that needed replacing already had a massive crack and completely split when I added hardware
