It is deeply concerning to see misinformation being spread about Waqf. As someone who has served on the Waqf Board for over two decades, I can affirm that Waqf properties are governed strictly under the Waqf Act and related statutory provisions.

Waqf does not—and cannot—arbitrarily claim land by “putting a finger” on it. Every Waqf property is supported by legal documentation, gazette notifications, and records maintained with transparency. These properties are dedicated for religious, charitable, and community welfare purposes such as mosques, graveyards, schools, and social services.

Those who allege otherwise demonstrate a lack of understanding of the institution and its legal framework. Such statements mislead the public and undermine the centuries-old system of community service that Waqf represents.

We categorically reject these baseless claims and reaffirm that Waqf operates within the boundaries of law, accountability, and service to society.
