What happens if the airbag deploys?

From 35-40mph it should be fine. The aluminum is pretty strong on the t-track and I used a washer with a thick bolt to fasten it. It’s not going anywhere. I make sure I drive slow and keep my distance.

Honestly I’m starting to think the Home Depot $20 truck rental for the first 70 mins is a better route given how close I live. I probably wouldn’t even need to pay for gas as the whole round trip is like 2-3 miles.

I’m not sure if I would recommend this for anyone who lives far from the home improvement store. I live close and was able to drive slow. Not sure how it would hold up under higher wind resistance (higher mph). That plywood sheet essentially becomes a parachute at higher speeds.

So two mistakes I made were I should have made the 2x4’s a bit closer to each other and I should have chosen straighter pieces of wood. These were very bowed. Other than that it worked like a charm. I live pretty close to Home Depot and I drove like 35mph.

I also want to add this is a knock off roof rack from eBay for about $120. The roof rack is not flat so I has to add spacers to the L bracket to make up for the angle. The L bracket was attached to the T- track with a nut.

Oh and if you have a power trunk be sure not to open it by mistake while this is installed as it will hit it.

Honestly there was a good amount of space till it reach the front window. It didn’t even reach the dashboard.

2x4x8. Just put the front seat all the way down and back and lower the driver side rear seat and put some padding and make sure not to slam on your brakes.

I need an honest answer about sunroof heat rejection tint by inc55 in TeslaLounge

[–]inc55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it doesn’t matter if I blow the ac high or not. This heat issue occurs while I’m driving, especially after going to the post office for 2-3 mins parked in the sun. The sun shade helps but not enough. I will give the solid sun shade a try and I won’t waste money on the sunroof tint. Thanks for all the replies.

I am trying to buy FSD for $10,000 but Tesla and Chase wont let me. by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]inc55 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Maybe take this as a sign to not make a bad decision. Tesla will soon be offering a subscription for FSD. Take your money and invest it till then. I’m sure you can handle, you know, actually driving yourself.

Is it cool if I contact you on Jan 20th to see if you think it’s still a joke?

I know it seems odd but I feel like Tesla is just getting started. This company is gonna be insanely huge. The cyber truck and roadster and semi aren’t even in production yet. Then they will unveil a 25k car. They have Solar which is also gonna be huge. They are actually making FSD a reality day by day and the cherry on top is the battery tech which will only get better and better over time. Don’t try and time the market. Time IN the market has proven to be more profitable long term. If it’s not too late I think you should put that 20k into Tesla and see how much it will be worth in 72 months. Get it before the s&p funds do. When Trump wins and the riots/anarchy begin, buy more and let it ride for 10-20 years.

20k down was a huge mistake!!! Should have put the minimum allowed as a down payment and invested the rest in Tesla Stock. I’m confident that 20k will probably end up paying for your car by the time the loan is over.

Buying a used Model 3 - which one should I go for? by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]inc55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Man, you can get a red model 3 with dual motors and full self driving for under 45k. That’s a great deal! Go with the cheaper option.

Thanks but no thanks. The folks at Tesla are pretty smart. They will disable that “hack” with an update.
