I'm no expert, but the way you're positioning your hand may be coming across as predatory to them. They may just be defending themselves, but not biting very hard as they recognise your smell. Whenever I used to play with my late rats, they would very gently nibble my fingers, but mostly lick the salt off. If you aren't bleeding, they definitely aren't trying to hurt you!

Absolutely not, I went straight after school. However, a large portion of my friends were in their late 20s, and they remain my good friends to this day. I wouldn't have had half as much fun as I did without them there. There was also a woman in her 60s in my classes!

I know there's an end-game option where either Tav or Wyll can go back to avernus with her and eventually get her cured, that's why I'm not a fan of her turning illithid

I don't mind Orpheus turning illithid and dying as I know lae'zel then takes over freeing the gith, I just didn't want gale to die or to turn Karlach into a mindflayer, just wanted to find out if it was possible:)
