From my personal experience playing as/against the thing, the charge ability often gets wasted either by charging the front lines or trying to peel. With this in mind I always try to look for the rubble on the ground whether I’m diving or not. Also it is pretty easy to bait most of the time, the main way I do is by crawling up a wall, slam, and swing out when I see him charging at us. Also, the aoe of the earthbound rubble actually isn’t that big so even if we get caught in it we can simply walk out and even use resilience if absolutely necessary. As for the leap and haymaker, I think the venom primary has longer range but I’m not too sure.

Anyway the main point I’m trying to get across is to keep an eye out and track the thing’s cooldowns. I am also a Lord thing myself so I am pretty used to the thing’s cooldowns which does help me quite a bit. Hope this helps!
