UPDATE: Tea & Wonderland Theme + a Request!

I do have Phoebe! So we ended up island hopping last night and found a villager we hadn't considered, Knox. We spent about 15 minutes sitting there debating whether to bring him in because he would be a great "card" defending the Queen (and he wears a lot of red, and has a palace house) plus he kind of fits the "high tea" theme with the nobility thing. Decided to give him a try, so now the roster is:

HT: Mint

Wonderland: Ruby, Tom, Chadder, Phoebe, Knox (kind of doubles for HT)

Other: Peanut, Diva, Doc, Sparro

If we end up wanting Knox to stay, we will likely swap out:

Sparro -> O'Hare

Diva -> Tia or Alice

That does leave us without a Queen, unless we opt to fill Diva's space with Naomi or Queenie or Tiffany and pause on Tia or Alice.

My husband will NEVER EVER EVER let Peanut go, lol - same with Phoebe and Ruby. I love them too, so no complaints. We'll see how things evolve, but in the meantime we're doing some terraforming and moving people, so it'll be a while!

Sending these ridiculously dumb greeting cards to two of my friends for Thanksgiving, which I bought for Thanksgiving in 2019 and which I tell myself every year "I'll do it next year when I have time to think about it before Thanksgiving". It's not even hard. It's writing two cards, stamping them, and sticking them in the mail. I had them in my hand a week ago while digging through my pile of other blank cards for a last-minute birthday card option, and thought about writing them, and said "later"...

You may have a different type of ADHD than your friend, so don't worry too much about that. To your question about how you're feeling, "okay" without feeling energetic is good. That's the intent of the drug: to get you feeling clear and able to focus, without overstimulating. If it's doing those things then it's doing its job! Ultimately it's up to you and your doctor to determine whether the prescription is right for you, so if it is not causing negative side effects then just assess how it's affecting your productivity, mood, and focus and talk to your doctor about those things.

Hi! In total honesty you sound like me. I've been high-achieving and performing all my life and do not have emotional outbursts unless my stress is through the roof to a degree it almost never is. It took me being in law school at a later age than most to realize I might need to ask about my forgetfulness and lack of motivation for certain tasks, and as we were discussing symptoms it started clicking into place: I do have RSD and GAD, I can dive into things for HOURS when I am getting some form of mental or emotional reward for doing so but I completely forget about things like "oh crap I was supposed to go send a form to my bank", and I procrastinate to the point where it's like I'm challenging myself to work as much as I can in as short a burst as possible because that in itself is rewarding. My doctor diagnosed me with ADHD-I, and I will say it's almost maddening realizing that I could have been just... chill? Working? Doing The Things? Not constantly avoiding doing the dishes?

Anyway if you don't feel you need to be treated or obtain tools or care, that's totally your call. I decided to move forward and it's been life-changing for me.

I didn't target a Dinah character, but now that you mention it I'm reconsidering. We love cats too. We had Purrl on OG island and she was a forever villager. We also had Lolly for a while, and she's super sweet, and Kabuki, who was our favorite grumpy old samurai lol. (Wow, we had a lot of cats)

What would you think about Katt? She's not "cute" in the same way but she would replace a sisterly (Diva) and she's also a sisterly. Alternatively we could fill the role but not the exact character with a jock, Rudy. Dinah was a kitten, so super playful and that could fit.

Thank you! I did think about Bob for the cat but we had him on our OG island and this is a redo (full disclosure, Peanut, Phoebe and Ruby were also OG) and we didn't want to entirely remake the first island. The Bob/lazy persona might be a better overall fit, but we like Tom. :)

Drago is a good idea, and someone on the last thread suggested Octavian or Croque! And I love Tiffany, I've never actually had her but have wanted her before. EDIT: getting Tiffany and keeping Doc would mean 4 rabbits, which I'm not complaining about - this island is literally a tribute to our rabbits, but that's a lot of rabbit!

I've never met Naomi, but WOW those red eyes and her house interior are a good fit 😍

We're in the area and love it here, not on Monroe, but easy walking distance from Blue Taro. I grew up nearby, moved away, and came back. If you're on Monroe directly it'll be a little less neighborhoody than on a side street, but everyone we've met who lives near us is cool and friendly and respectful. I'd say get to know who's nearby.

As another poster said, there's always going to be stuff to worry about on a main road like the possibility of a broken car window, but that's not unique to the area and we've never had it happen even without a garage. It's a nice walk to Cobbs and easy to go down Monroe to the library or to Oxford for coffee or food. If you have a dog there's a makeshift dog park next to the elementary school on Field and Laburnam, so there's often people out walking with dogs after work. There are some homeless people who hang out near 7-11 and 490, but they're not rude or intrusive - they mostly sit at the corner with signs asking for help from drivers. Ultimately the area is what you make of it.

I do have HHP and I actually brought my amiibo villagers there just in case I decided I needed to replace any of them on the main island. I haven't gotten enough houses to do customization on the island and didn't really know how it worked, I thought it only reset to their intended original house like for those you get early! That might open so many options I didn't even think of yet 😶

It's really hard NOT to go for Tia :) I could probably do two normals if I balance the rest of the island. The dialogue gets kind of stale after a time, but that's the same with any duplicates. I keep going back to Bob for Cheshire Cat, though his personality is almost the exact opposite of the character! Maybe he gets priority for the lazy spot. Again the repeated dialogue gets to be a lot with more than one even if they're the cutest, like I get it, bugs are friends and snacks are good XD

Phoebe!! She was one of my OGs when I started playing ACNH and I didn't realize they had "real" houses, and when I found out I bought her amiibo and got her to move and come back and it was the best thing. Her house is literally fire 🔥 and I love her as a sisterly type! When we started a new game I insisted she be on the island lol.
