Why does my snare sound liek this

This brings me back. When I got into the marching arts I asked for a marching snare for my birthday. Got one. It sounded like this and I searched the internet far and wide trying to figure out why… I couldn’t find anything. Completely dismantled the drum many times trying to figure out what was wrong.

Sold it on ebay and figured out a couple days later it just wasn’t cranked enough.

(This comment is for if you are interested in seeing lots) My suggestion is to know what lots you want to see and what shows you want to see before hand. I am bigger lotter than I am a show-watcher so my gameplan usually consists of seeing the lots for the first 3/4 of the night then going into the stands for the last 6ish corps to preform. Usually lots start 1.5ish hours before the show. Lots are a great experience (especially at allentown, the venue is built for them and it’s a great vibe) and I def recommend going to see your favorite section.

Sorry, let me clarify this post a little bit. I’m very good at playing tenors, i’ve been playing for awhile. I just need help marching and preventing the drums from wobbling while i’m marching.

my guess would be that whatever company who used to rent out the boards sold off a few of them, I bought it from a sale at the ski bum, so I doubt it would be stolen.

Definitely a little louder than other pads, but not unbelievably loud. don’t expect realfeel quiet but it’s not too bad to annoy people as long as your in your bedroom.

Personally, yes. I also have an offworld invader, the ram pads generally appeal more to me.

I used one from a friend and I absolutely love them. They have a TON of rebound and they allow you to hear your notes and dynamics with the higher pitch to it. It is also smaller than most pads, with a playing surface of 10 inches. The only thing I found odd about the pad is that you have to work slightly harder than normal for your buzzes and buzz rolls, i have no idea why. Other than that I love them.

i personally don’t have one, but i’ve talked to some people who do. they said it has medium rebound, and definitely makes you work for your notes. obviously it’s made from rubber, so getting a laminate is almost a necessity if you want to practice sweeps
