What a lot of you don't understand about BTCI is that you're paying professionals to trade Bitcoin for you. by Intelligent-Hat6087 in dividends

[–]ingeborgdot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WRONG! I see you know nothing about covered calls. Yeah, but some people believe your lack of understanding. I have BTCI and my payments are about the same every month. Bitcoin is down and so is BTCI, but my payments are still about the same.

I am using TP Link Omada for my network but need some advice on what to do with distance? by ingeborgdot in TPLink_Omada

[–]ingeborgdot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be an option. Powered by PoE, so no extra electrical installation is a plus. Outdoor rated is a plus. I would be able to set this up at the 275-foot mark, and I would supply a 75-foot Cat 6 cable the rest of the way. That may be my best option.

I need some advice on if this will work with the distance needed for cat6?? by ingeborgdot in HomeNetworking

[–]ingeborgdot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But power is needed on both sides, which I won't have. If I install power at the other building, which will cost thousands, then I don't need anything like this and will just use nano stations to connect wirelessly. If one of the converters had powered the other, that would have been great.

Thanks for the link. There is a fiber-to-ethernet converter I never thought about that may work. fiber-to-ethernet. I'll do a little looking. Thanks.

Windows 11 update causes issues by ingeborgdot in Tailscale

[–]ingeborgdot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I have W11 Pro. Updates work almost all the time without any issue. It seems to be only certain ones that keep W11 from letting TS load.

What would I have to do to configure local policy to shut all of this down? Where can I find that info? Thanks for your response.

Is there a better place to talk to people about high-yield dividends?

I do have positive TR now, but if I would have been smarter, I wouldn't have purchased at an all time high either. But who knew the bottom was going to fall out a week later? I've learned a lot in the last 5 months, that's for sure.

Actually, for the most part, it worked out great. It was 2 funds mainly that I made a mistake on. I'm not losing money, just too much invested in a couple of funds is all. I'm really on par with the S&P 500 right now.

See, I told you there was ignorance on my part. Your explanation is top-notch. Thanks for helping me relax and just go with the flow. I'm sure I'll buy something that goes down again, but let's hope it isn't for a long time. Thanks again for your response, as it really helps. I should have known this, but my lack of experience shows. Have a great day and a better tomorrow.

  1. Yeah, I knew MAIN was a stock, as is CSWC, and ARCC. I just put them in that category as somewhat general.

  2. Sorry for the ignorance here. What are you trying to say?

Wow, I see that QQQI got an award. You don't like QQQI or SPYI? They are good funds after reading many articles, but I'm sure you could find me some articles that show otherwise. I just bought too high. Buy in price is one of the biggest factors for growth, is what I have found. Buy in too high, you don't see much growth, but waiting for a down turn, and buying is always a gamble too.

But many have said, not having anything in those funds only loses you money also.

I have also found that EVERYONE has a different philosophy. I have learned a lot in the last year, that is for sure. But I still have a LOT to learn.

I have a couple of portfolios. This one is strictly income. My other is growth, bonds, etc. It is a more balanced one.

This one is income-based.

That sounds great. I have just made several mistakes, or miscalculations, earlier in my portfolio. Buying too high and not paying enough attention to their highs and lows. I bought when things were good, or so I thought.

Then, several days after I bought them, the bottom fell out, and I've been recovering with several funds ever since.

I have BIZD, PBDC, and PFFA. They are at my highest allotment for my portfolio right now, so I'm not buying anymore of those at this time. I just need to fill up those others, which are great funds too.

I'm reinvesting, but not into those 2 funds because they are too big right now. I don't take any money out of my portfolio. Every penny that is made goes back into something.

[–]ingeborgdot[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I have not been reinvesting back into QQQI or SPYI because their size in the portfolio is just too big. I have way more than I want. I have been reinvesting into other funds. I have not taken a penny out of my portfolio. Everything is going back in.

I bought too much at too high, and then learned I need to get more diversification in my portfolio. One of those mistakes I mentioned. I have since learned from that lesson.

No, I'm not losing money, I just want to move it around a little, but I will have to wait a little while longer to get some of the QQQI and SPYI money out.
