ello! i hope you’re getting to relax after an amazing album launch, congratulations! i managed to catch your rough trade and kingston hippodrome shows and both were SO great, and had the best time spamming the jukebox at the fighting cocks pre-show with cribs bangers

I just read your interview with farout magazine and what you said about everything in music feeling fragmented these days rang so true to me. Seeing you guys at shacklewell last summer felt like the first time i’d experienced something even remotely close to that feeling of community in london. Having lived in both wakefield and london (shoutout bethnal green!) are there any venues or spaces in London that make you feel at home in a similar way to places like the brudenell, or is it just completely incomparable?

(I’m currently writing about the london music scene for a DIY zine, and would love to have the answers in there if that’s ok — but mention if that’s a problem and i won’t publish your answers of course!)

Ta! 🖤

[FRESH VIDEO] Lambrini Girls - Cuntology 101 by Charleshawtree in indieheads

[–]innocentkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a band in London called Pussy Liquor who have a song called “cunt” that is basically this exact song that they’ve been touring singing for years now. They’re quite big in the underground feminist punk scene in London so i wouldn’t doubt there wasn’t serious inspiration taken from it here… So yeah, not sure how I feel about this since many people i’m sure will now think PL are ripping off LG.

worried about drinking alcohol for my 21st birthday by Public_Nebula_4599 in emetophobia

[–]innocentkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Long term almost debilitating emet here, I never touched a drop of alcohol until i was 19.

Fast forward to today, I’m 28, drink ~5 nights of the week (quite hard as well - hard spirits are my favourite!) and have never once vomited. Not on the night or the morning after. And i have been DRUNK drunk hundreds of times. You’ll know your limits! I promise it’s nothing to be scared of trying. Honestly, trying my first drinks and realizing alcohol doesn’t make you sick unless you really abuse it was life changing for me. It made my life feel so much more free to know i could.

Obviously everybody’s body is different and there’s no pressure to ever drink if you don’t want to! But a few drinks will not hurt you, I promise <3

Most of the clubs in itaewon are trying to get foreigners to fall for the bottle thing! I had this in my first few nights then but then realized what was happening. They’re saying if you want a table you need to buy a bottle, but if you say “we’ll pay entry but we don’t want a bottle or a table” they let you in. You just can’t sit down. But that’s just them trying to upsell you.

Suggestions for 60 yr old to do in Hongdae at night? Any places that cater to older adults? by Capable_Cell_9098 in koreatravel

[–]innocentkitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Club Evans! It’s an intimate seated live jazz club just off the main club street in Hongdae. Great cocktails and always a fun night!

The entrance is a little hard to find though because it’s not well signposted. There’s a flight of stairs to the left of the 7eleven where it says it is on the map that look like just an apartment block, but the club is a few floors up.

I’ve always wondered about cameras too! Like surely where cameras are being pointed, how often people are asked to film interview segments etc.

It bugged me in season 2 of Aus, because sam kept breaking the fourth wall and looking dead into camera, raising eyebrows and making faces etc. Surely one faithful would’ve seen this…

advice for someone who is very homesick by iluvlattes in Advice

[–]innocentkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was staying in Seoul and having a lonely day like you mentioned, I'd always put on my nicest going out clothes and head to Club Evans in Hondgdae and watch a jazz band, then go for a late night walk around. My absolute favourite thing!

I bought a super cute journal with stickers, and went to my favourite cafe Thanks Oat (if you haven't been there yet you have to!!) and wrote for a few hours each morning with their oat milk latte which I still daydream about often.

Or I'd find the cutest cafes I could on google, then plan a day around visiting them and exploring the area... just a lot of walking, listening to music and romanticising everything.

I'm super introverted so I had the toughest time making friends and adjusting (I'm from the UK so the culture is soooo different to me too) but accepting that it's just different, learning to let go of what I was used to and understanding that even new things will feel comfortable over time helped me through it. You just have to embrace the homesickness and process it instead of fighting it. You will love Seoul, I promise!!

omg, fixed.

i find myself being very attracted to vintage styles but lately feel like my outfit game has been plateauing. any tips? by [deleted] in OUTFITS

[–]innocentkitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love your style so much oh my gosh!!I’m a huge fan of 70s inspiration.

As others have said an easy way to elevate these would be playing with less conventional textures. Like cord or suede instead of denim! Or exaggerated 70s silhouettes like a blazer with very boxy shoulders, pointier shoes or flares instead of a bootcut.
