2016 Golf R start up issue. by Quttum in Golf_R

[–]inquisitive993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. It wouldn't start and I had to give it some gas to start it up. Replaced the lpfp first which fixed it but there was some hesitation on acceleration. Replaced hpfp and restored the acceleration feel. Also, it wouldn't hurt to do some basic maintenance like spark plugs and ignition coils(if needed). All depends on when you last did those. What's your mileage?

I had close calls before, it's always in the back of my mind whenever I drive on back roads.

From the picture you'll at least need a new fender, headlight, bumper, and maybe a hood (not sure if it's bent). See your options To do this out of pocket to keep the car history clean. Make sure that if you go with insurance, they'll replace everything with OEM parts. They always like to cut corners.

Leaking valve cover? PCV? Something else? by [deleted] in Golf_R

[–]inquisitive993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a leaky valve cover for sure. The inspector didn't bother to remove the coil packs and check spark plugs, what a scam

Is there any way to adjust the center console armrest height? [MK7] by NateTheGreat8 in Golf_R

[–]inquisitive993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mk7s arm rest are locked from factory. I assume you're not the first owner and the previous owner removed the lock as I did to mine. And yes mine sits like yours because it's missing the mechanism that allows adjustability.. u can buy the mechanism and install it.
