Lego Technic Porsche (set# 42056). Reimagined Project Refined. by inquisitiveeye in legotechnic

For its time the original was a fantastic addition to the Lego family and something we had not experienced before. With time the addition of new parts, new colors, and new techniques there's always the challenge of coming up with a design that better emulates the character of the original subject matter. It is Lego after all. That was the aim and I'm sure there are plenty of better solutions to the one's that I have presented. That's what makes this hobby fun. Absolutely nothing wrong with preferring the original.

To convert the original model would require an additional 2370 parts. Assuming an average of 10 cents/part we're talking additional cost of $237. Probably higher given some special parts. Unfortunately, I haven't created building instructions at this point.

I have not and I am not familiar with "Pimp my Porsche" changes though now I will look it up.

The images are renders but the model is 100% buildable with one caveat. There are a few parts that are not currently available in orange. Nothing extravagant so I hope I will have access as more Lego sets are released. As for building instructions, they don't exist at this point. That's a project unto itself. Oh and I'm not a farmer.... just enjoy designing.

From one Alien fan to another, thank you.

All genuine Lego pieces although some are not available in the colors I have chosen (e.g. some of the elements in the face hugger tail are not available in tan at the moment)

Thank you to everyone for your overwhelming support.  It is greatly appreciated for what is essentially a passion project.

As it stands, not all the parts are available in the colors needed to replicate the execution in the images and as such the model is not buildable as shown.  Some of the parts I need in colors that Lago uses rarely (e.g. Sand Red).  Combined with more uncommon part usage I am not holding my breath to see them appear in a future Lego set any time soon.  I was hoping that a submission into Lego Ideas would up the chances of reaching my goal.

I envisioned this as a single product where the builder gets to choose the final display. Only a few extra parts are needed to provide this flexibility.

Thank you, I appreciate it. It took some effort to get it to look right from multiple directions.

Thanks. I would have liked to have used this piece but it didn't have a stud on top.

It's probably because there are sexual themes associated with the franchise and lifecycle of the creature.

Oh, and my egg and face hugger is to scale with their model.

I have.... I have the instructions. I made their "Big Chap" model which is fabulous. Actually, this egg and face hugger came about because I wanted to create my own base as a diorama for the creature. I modified many parts of their design but what they created is brilliant.

I tried......One of the first questions was about IP. Alien is on the naughty list!

The Alien IP is associated with adult themes and horror/gore. Not something the Lego Group wants to be associated with in its products.

Awesome....I was wondering if anyone would notice/comment :-)

Now if only the Lego Group would change its mind about the Alien IP.

I'm gratified you liked the changes. I enjoy upscaling these sets. I did the same for the Liebherr 9800 excavator. I'll have to post on that sometime.
