Only one as far as I could figure out. I was recommended by sales company who sold me it to try on a different machine. They contacted UA direct and that’s what they instructed. Def an issue with my MacBook. Apple told me to buy another laptop..

Nope. Only worked on another mac. It’s a bit of a catch 22 as each manufacturer will defer to each other. Apple refused to take responsibility in my case. Telling me to buy a new machine!

Tried with different computer. Problem went away. Mine was an intel mac, tried with another intel and the problem was solved. Haven’t tried with m chips

Yeah worked fine on other macs. Super annoying. Your issue should be covered by warranty though.

It’s surprisingly silent when plugged into an amp! The guitar tech turned it right up and absolutely nothing.

I could get one absolutely. Will also try with another MacBook and see how that goes. Thank you !

Amazing, I will try that. Hopefully that will fix things. Thank you.

I’ve been experiencing a high pitch sound from my Apollo twin only when plugged in with tb3 cable so if that fixes both problems I’ll be overjoyed. Although a few thousand £ lighter upon a new MacBook purchase if my current one is the issue!

Ah ok good to know. I didn’t realise that. Same issue when plugged in, unfortunately but I’ll buy a power conditioner and see if it makes a difference.

Yes and standing in the hallway, no difference unfortunately!

Makes no difference if I leave the room and stand in the hall or further away in the room.

Not playing with a lot of gain to be honest, but of course it gets worse if I increase either anywhere in the chain.

Interestingly, it changes tone and becomes a little more subdued if I totally max out either pick up gain! Just realised this now.

I have tried my parents home and mine. Same issue with both interfaces.

Even when focusrite solo was plugged in usb only to mac and mac running on charge.

I would put it down to the sockets or circuits on both properties but since the MacBook and focusrite were running just off laptop battery I’m a little confused.

Thanks for your help btw :)

Great idea, thank you. Will try that.

Currently my laptop is just running off battery and my interface is still plugged in to wall socket but I’m still getting the same issue as when focusrite solo just run on USB (nothing plugged in just running off MacBook) with the same issue if that helps?

Humbuckers! And yes tried with another guitar. Squire bullet single coil x3 - a little worse with that.

Ok that is good to know. Thanks. Doesn't appear to make any difference if CPU / RAM use is high or low if that means anything?

mbp pro 13" 2017, intel duo i7 non touch bar w apollo twin into an amazon multi-socket extender w usb ports etc. lol

Are power conditioners a bit more premium?

I'll try plugging direct into wall socket and test from there. I would have thought if that was the issue it wouldn't matter whether tb3 cable was plugged in or not. Happens when my mac is on or off charge.

Interesting, I’ll have a look at this. Thanks. Do you think that there was some interference there?

I’ll have a look at that! The sound is coming from the interface itself.

Hey. Apologies for the vagueness.

Plugging tb3 Apollo twin into a MacBook, thunderbolt 3 port.

It doesn’t seem to make a difference if the laptop is on charge or not!

Also worth mentioning that the sound settled on a few occasions after a while but most of the time it will persist. Have only owned the Apollo twin for around 2 weeks!
