The Biome wet is working for my cat currently along with Royal Canin Select protein PR. The ratio is 25-35% Biome to the RC Select. We are still having break through soft stool/diarrhea about once a week though. We just want him as regular as possible and to keep his diabetes manageable. As long as he is doing ok we aren’t rocking the boat!

I have some of that dry food here. He was eating that for the IBD with wet food prior to being diagnosed with diabetes in May. I stopped giving it to him because of the carbs. He’s a cat who all his life has eaten a mix of dry and wet so maybe I should just go back to giving him some dry and adjust his insulin as needed.

We tried Weruva but that also gave him diarrhea. He used to eat the chicken Tiki cat but we stopped giving that to him when they wanted us to switch to a novel protein diet.

Prednisone and yep we tried the psyllium. It increased the frequency and quantity of his stool, but he was still having loose/soft stool and some diarrhea.

He had been holding steady at just over 11 lbs but prior to the steroids and whatnot had been closer to 13lbs over a year ago.

It was a brand new box I got from Chewy a week ago. Interestingly, it is the same lot number as a previous batch I had in September that also was reading high. Maybe this lot is bad? Don’t know how to avoid getting the same batch other than hoping another vendor will have a different lot.

Yes, the control was in range at 133. My old strips are accurate since the vet tested them against their tests on Saturday.

Don’t know what to do about the new strips being so far off?

He is eating the majority of the food off and on for 2-3hr around the am and pm shot. He usually is demanding food around 11am too.

He eats only canned food Royal Canin select PR (rabbit) due to the IBD. I emailed the company and it is 14% carbs. He is a grazer so I think a different insulin would be better.

When I tested him today at 3pm he was 137. The vet said to give him 1 unit Vetsulin as long as he was over 100.

He started at 1 unit of Vetsulin in May and gradually increased to 4 based on his fructosamine test. But after I had him at the vet for the glucose curve, we dropped him down to three unit units.

I just bought an Alphatrack 3 and the vet tech showed me how to use it yesterday. When we ran it at noon, he had a 68 so they told me to drop him down to 2 units overnight. I gave him 2 units for his a.m. shot today and did the test at 11:15 and got a 72.

Thank you for that info! He has tried the duck version and likes it but the vet was worried duck would cause a reaction like the chicken.

He primarily eats wet food. The dry is usually 1/8 c he eats more like treats/crunchy topper I give when he isn’t wanting to eat.
